Great for home guitar practice, not so great for MT recording

I ordered the Boss BR-80 mainly for practicing at home without the hassle of setting up an amp and effects and so on. Quite simple, guitar in, headphones out, wide variety of backing tracks and recommended guitar tones, plus you can also use your computer to transfer your favourite play along songs. The e-Band function is great. However, it took a lot of time to figure out how the multi track recorder works, and then setting up the percussions and all is a big hassle. Moreover, the live recording function with the condensator mics sounds good, may even work in a small home studio, but didn't quite work as expected to record a live jam sessions. Additionally I ordered the boss adapter so I don't run through my AAs.

All in all a good product for guitar practice.

Useful and complete

A lot of sounds inside, fast to set. The only remark: I would expect a lithium battery for this price rechargable via USB as a mobile

a nice tool to have

I use BR-80 as a guitar practice tool. It took a few days to get used to the menu and getting efficient with it but I like it so far.

One bad thing is that the batteries do not hold for a long time. And I cannot power it from a USB hub , somehow it doesn't work for me.

Good for songwriting

This little thing is great for saving your ideas. The sounds are just so and so. You can record multible guitar, bass, drums and vocals using the BR-80 and nothing else. So like I said: Really handy tool that fits in your guitarcase.
