Best tuner on the market

Great, sturdy tuner with bright light.

I've used it several times live without any problems.

Surely it won't break, and you can clearly see tuning screen.

Even tho this tuner hasn't got hi tech features like tc tuners, this one will last forever.

5/7 would buy again

Unbeatable

Really, in my experience there are only two really good floor tuners, this and the TC Electronic Polytune. Take your pick, or get both. There is nothing that can be said about this solid accurate and reasonably priced tuner that has not already been said. Accurately and easily tunes all guitars and basses and has a chromatic setting too. Brightness boost fro use in daylight. Just excellent.

Its just the best tuner out there

I play with standard and open tunings, and used this tuner for many years, its just the best, easy to see with bad light conditions, and good for any tuning from drop, to open. True bypass, and played by most guitar players. Had a couple cheap ones that broke super fast, worth to buy a good one like this.

A must have for any guitarist! Very accurate and easy to use. As always with Boss, it's a very durable pedal.

Almost perfect

Well-made pedal, supports up to 7-string guitars and 6-string basses, can be powered by battery too (9V Battery included).

It would have been absolutely perfect if it could show the octave number, for example: C1, C2, C3, ... D1, D2, D3, ... etc.

Great Boss Product with a hidden Bonus!

I am so happy with my new Boss TU3 Tuner. It is the usual "Built like a Tank" construction Boss are well known for. The instructions and diagrams in the box are easy to follow and I was able to plug in and use almost immediately. There is a choice of Tuning Guides - Stream or Cent displays, you can increase the brightness of the display for bright light or daylight situations, it is possible to change the reference pitch, use alternative tunings for Guitar and Bass also 7 / 8 String guitars. But, that is not all! It is possible to connect a number of other Pedals by Daisy Chain from the DC out socket at the side of the DC in! Effectively giving you a free power Brick. This is not only a cost saving but a great space saver on your pedal board. I can not recomend this product highly enough.

Get it.

I use this at the start of my signal chain. It is a buffered pedal so gives my signal a boost which is one of the main reasons I opted for this over the TC electronic tuner.

As a tuner it is incredibly accurate. Super easy to use. It is built like a TANK. Footprint is a little big I guess but it's worth it taking up that space for the reliability factor.

Highly recommend it!!

A great bit of kit

Accurate through the various modes, well constructed and easy on batteries. I like the way you can mute the guitar whilst tuning - no odd sounds for the audience!

Excellent

After 4 years still works great, my friends went through 2 other tunes during the same time. Well made, display is easy to see and precision is just right for quick tuning at gigs.

Would get another one if I had to choose again.

Great tuner!

The TU-3 is one of the best tuners for live usage out there. LED lights give you the ability to see if you are in tune even on dark stage. The amount of LEDs also allows you to tune quickly and precisely.

The tuner doesn't make any signal degradation while playing the guitar through it and it is also a good buffer. Since I use it for tuning to standard tuning only, I am not able to review any other features but I am sure that they all work as they should.

Overall this is a very accurate tuner and I would recommend it to anyone who wish to have a tuner in the pedalboard and not clipped on the head of the guitar

A wise investment

use: studio and live guitar work

pros:

-very solid build quality

-extra bright mode is great for playing outdoors on a sunny day

-very accurate and consistent

-easy to use and it works with both guitar and bass

-does not impact/colour guitar tone like some cheap tuners

-makes tuning a much faster process

cons:

-cannot tune acoustic guitars which have no pick-ups as there is no built in mic

overall:

Even though there are cheaper tuners available at much lower prices I wholeheartedly recommend you buy this tuner. Cheap tuners tend to be fiddly and unreliable (I have owned many in the past), this is built like a tank and I expect it to last for years.

A wise investment in my opinion.

Great for what it's made

It's a tuner. The job it does is perfect. The tuning is super easy and fast. There are several modes to tune. I use chromatic tuning, which is the best imo. The LED's are super bright and can be easily seen on a sunny day.

Seems it's built like a rock, like all boss pedals.

Verry happy with this product.

Does What It Says On The Tin

This tuner does exactly what it's meant to do, and does it well. It's sturdy metal casing and bright LEDs makes it a no-brainer for any gigging musician. It serves as a great tuner as well as a handy kill-switch to hide that between-song-buzzing.

I don't think I'll be replacing this anytime soon, and if I am it would more than likely be with another!

The boss of all tuners!

I bought the BOSS TU-3 as an upgrade to the TU-2. As I gig regularly, 5 years of constant use took its tole on the old model but it did the trick.

Moving to the new model has been flawless. It tunes better, it gives accurate readings that are better and it has a variety of improved features. The chromatic tuner is what I am used to using but you can tune a violin, banjo, bass, and even a cello using the tuner. It doesn't discriminate against other strings!

The only issue is it would be nice to have another port of another guitar. I use 2 guitars and switching between both can be bothersome but it's not massive problem. I deal with it.

If you need a quick tuner that won't let you down then look no further than the BOSS TU-3. Best tuner out there and its legacy will remain untarnished!

Fantastic pedal

The price seems to be high for a tuner (after all you can buy one for 5 euros) but it is worth it. It makes tuning so easy and is incredibly reliant.

A Great Tuner

Pros:

Very accurate, even on bass.

Two different lighting mode,

Two outputs, one mutes when the tuner is enabled, one don't.

All the modes for tuning guitar, basses b, bb

Cons,

None

Forget the rest, get the best

If your budget for a tuner is only ?10, fine, get a ?10 tuner. If you are thinking of spending any more on a tuner, this is the one to get. No question.

I have tried about a dozen or more tuners in the sub-?100 region and none of them come anywhere near to this in terms of speed and accuracy of tuning. Add to that the tank-like build quality, this is an essential piece of equipment.

Look on the stage floor of just about every single professional guitarist and bassist. That little white pedal? Probably a Boss tuner. Enough said.

Excellent tuner

I've tried rackmount tuners and a couple of other cheaper boxes, but there's no escaping this simply rules the roost.

Excellent accuracy and note acquisition, even for notes on a bass too low to be deemed safe for your trousers.Feels durable and safe to give a good whacking with your foot when using the mute function. Doesn't seem to drain battery life either. My only gripe is that for a top of the range tuner, at quite a few pennies, you're buying literally just a box. No power supply, no case. That's just the way with Boss; but it is the only thing that really holds it back.

For the tl;dr...

Pros:

Durable as mad

Plenty of functionality without being confusing

Very accurate

Very fast to acquire notes

Decent battery life

Cons

Nothing but the tuner is supplied
