The build quality is excellent on this dimmer pack. The european style plugs fit very tightly. It has lots of built in chase sequences which make it pretty much plug and play without the need for any dmx software however it can be triggered using dmx. I have been using it for around 2 years now and so far no issues with all the less in the screen working fine and its never blown a fuse as these things can do. I had 3 1200 watt blinders plugged into it and it handled it very well. The unit is not exactly light weight but these things never are.

I bought 4 of these for an upcoming event. They are perfect for fitting to the top of t bars. Small, light and powerful. I ran 3 x 1000w parcans off each dimmer pack without any issues. The only negative point I have found is the strain relief holding the input cable into the unit. It is a little loose and will eventually fall out. I am going to glue these in place to try and extent the lifetime of the units but can't complain at this price. One final thing that impressed me with these units is that when I removed the Europlug on the input cable to fit a 16a Ceeform plug, the ends of the cable were booted so made swapping the plug really quick and simple. A nice detail that I wasn't expecting.
Stairville DS-2 RF DMX

I have them attached to the side of PAR can mounts for the PAR cans that I move around a lot - easy way to put them anywhere where there's DMX and power available. I have used them for 50W to 1000W lamps and they have worked flawlessly so far. They have also survived a few blown lamps. I have even used them to switch some random decorative LED lights or UV fluorescent lights on or off (without dimming). The unit has a proper metal case and is built solid enough to survive more than a few bumps and drops. Overall build quality seems to be surprisingly good both outside and inside. All the terminals inside are properly secured, it has proper grounding, no loose screws, soldering is good. The switching element is a BTA416008 triac, which is rated for 40A and can handle 400A surge current...
Showtec Lightbrick 4 Ch. Dimm Pack DMX

We bought 6 of these a few years back. We use them in our theater for every now and then. I like them because they are light, easy to tug away and no nonsense. No more heavy cables to pull around. You bring the dimmer to the bulb. Last week one broke down so now I'm ordering the same again. For this price... Downsides: when the bulb breaks, it usually takes out the fuse as well so you need to get up to the truss to replace. It also doesn't filter out voltage jumps, but you could hardly expect that in this price range. So: for pro's? No. For an occasional user who is budget minded and likes to be flexible in his setup: definitely yes.
