C. Robert Hopf Akkordzither 100/3 Mahogany

A great buy, well built, good tone

This is my first chord zither, so I don't have much reference point, but I'm quite happy with my purchase. The body is attractively decorated and appears to be solidly built (not to mention, made in Germany). The tone resonates well and is consistent across strings (none of the quavering I've experienced on some cheap instruments). The tuners seem to work reliably and consistently as well. While it only has 5 chords (whereas some of the included sheet music requires more), it seems like a great instrument for someone who is interested in learning and doesn't want to spend too much. It comes with a manual (in German only) and some songs as well, which is a nice bonus. No regrets, well worth the price.
