I wanted a small keyboard for messing around with, but, as a guitarist, I did not want to spend too much on my second instrument, so I did a little bit of research and ended up ordering the Yamaha PSS-F30. My first impressions were just as I had anticipated: the keyboard is light and made out of cheap-feeling plastic, but the general build quality is perfectly acceptable for such an inexpensive instrument. I did not notice any defects. Since the keyboard has been designed with small children in mind, it took some time for me to get used to the size of the keys, but, in a couple of hours, I was able to play without accidentally hitting the wrong keys. Cheapest yamaha keyboard you can purchase. I bought it to transcribe melodies at night that I later play on the sax, has more features than I'll ever be able to use and its the same price I payed for my child's toy keyboard. The fact that it can transpose by semitones up and down the register and moves octaves allows me to set it just on Eb and Bb and same register as my saxophones so I don't have to transpose melodies after transcribing. I love it. Its also a MIDI USB Interface with ok key sensitivity, its endless fun!

This keyboard was bought for my youngest daughter. I find suitable keyboard a long time, but only Casio SA 77 is okay for small kids. Very simple for operating, switch modes etc. Kids can operate with this keyboard by themselves. 100 quality sample banks, a lot of pianos and other great instruments for this price. Very nice sound also included! I think I can add only one lack - AC adapter not included. Suitable power supply from the guitar pedal for example (9V). Batteries spend economically. Resume: great piano for kids, interested functions for study and simple performance.

someone recommended this to me this as I was looking for something that was inexpensive, but not cheap-sounding. for such a package, you get an amazing amount of instruments and rhythms (my 4 year old really likes the train effect). it pretty much does exactly what I want. what surprised me is that it's also midi capable. I have done a little bit of recording through Garagband and it works nicely. if there's one minor negative, it's that the case feels really quite light and plasticky, and I have a feeling this wouldn't fare-well if dropped from a decent height. however, it has a nice groove on the back which is the right spot for your fingers, so a tight grip will see you right. highly recommended for price-conscious people looking for a midi capable beastie.
