Cameo HydraBeam 400 4x10W Cree RGBW

Although this product at first seems expensive , it is quite an eye catcher at gigs. Its quite bright and smooth. I use it behind me as a show for the audience, and with a hazer below allowing smoke drift upwards it looks great . Without haze , it is not quite so eye catching..... I use it sound to light and the patterns are effective. For road use, I could find no suitable case, which is disspointing, I ended up buying a heavily padded keyboard bag which does the job, using the styrene inserts from the box to protect the lights. I've done a few gigs and it is holding up well. But you don't need me to tell you , lights can be delicate - hence only 4 stars for quality - it does not look robust enough.

This is my first moving head and I have to say it's a pretty impressive little light. So far I only used it at home but I have to say I like it a lot. Light output is decent for small to medium venues, noise is minimal, great colours, easy to transport (they are smaller than expected but that doesn't bother me). I belive it's a great addition to my setup and sometimes in the future I am thinking about getting another two (I bought a pair). Now I don't know much about gobo's and if they are all the same as I'm newbie here..these are tiny and have 1 shiny steel side and other side is black matt finish. You will receive several additional gobos and when I tried to replace them I believe I scratched the matt finish side and it slightly shows on the light effect now. I will try to spray...

I have a 500 cap venue and wanted to offer the tourers a bit more in the way of installed lamps so I got 4 of these and they are decent to the point where I'll probably get 2 more for the floor. What I have noticed is that the haze does get behind the lens and leave a residue so the beam is less well defined after a few months use (so bit of a clean required) but that is the only real issue I have. It's fast, bright and has some nice gobo's and features and works well with Chamsys so no real complaints.
Stairville BS-280 R10 BeamSpot Moving Hea

We use lighting for gigs and events that we are hired in to do, so I bought two of these units based on their versatility and large number of features. I am really impressed by the units overall especially the ability to switch from a spot to a beam fixture by use of the zoom and focus controls. I also like the built in movement macros that saves a lot of step by step DMX programming. The units are of good build quality, but I suggest they are handled with appropriate care as I'm not sure the casing would take much of a drop to break them. On the downside, there is no on-off switch, the incremental change in DMX value for some features notably the colour wheel and macro movements are so narrow, its not always easy to find the right number to get the effect you desire. I guess the biggest...

Bought 3 of these and placed them on my front of house truss in our school theatre/hall. Bright enough to compete with the rest of my stage lighting without being washed out. Handy to have focus and zoom, but you need to play around with these if you're using gobos from the different wheels (have to change settings according to the one in use), that makes it a bit fidly to programme. Overall, the available features and the price balance out, with the added bonus of a good strong beam that remains visible even when using other LED lights at the same time.

I both two of these to replace my bulky roll led scanners. I had popular brand 50 watt barrel mirror roll scanners and I must say these are bright! I looked into lens and can guess thath this unit uses american top brand 5x5 led chip. Easy to replace in future. Pros: unit is light, good build quality, responsive, matte touch finish, good light output and nice set of colors and gobos. Cons: Could be more quite on fans, loud in small room. This unit will do good in small weddings, parties and small pub/club setups. Auto mode is no good if used off-wall. Need to have some control over this unit. Tested night time outdors - no problem under some street lights for about 20/30 meter squere. Tests inside: no problem with some ambient living room light. Starts to loose brightnes under 4x full on...

Looks very solid, build materials are nice, looks very PRO grade - mat plastic and metal parts, but, when placed on floor - wobbly, need to unscrew rubber pads and place some washers to even out. Luckily, I had some washers laying around... Movements are fast, precise and quiet, but cooling fans are very loud. When music is playing, no problem, but, if you use them without music, try something more expensive. I use thees movers most in weddings, where background music is playing all the time, so, fans are barely noticeable. Built in programs are useless, sound mode works o.k. But, if you by thees lights - use of some sort DMX is a must. In my case, I use ADJ MyDMX Go. O.K. For totem use (tilt range is enough). Light output is brilliant! Prism is also great, but could be a little wider...

These units are supremely bright, and are perfect for small clubs/bars etc. Output is really good for the size/price, as is the feature options. Includes a 3 facet, non overlapping output prism, but unfortunately its fixed, which is a bit of a shame. Understandable for the price though. Something to note is upon turning on, not all of them reset the prism fully, some just sit part in/out and its not always the same units which do this. Once the prism has been brought in and sent away again manually, they are fine for the rest of that use (so far my longest single power on cycle is 28hrs) so it must be something in the turn on/reset sequence.

It’s the perfect budget lightning system for mobile DJs, clubs, bars, parties, etc... The light output power is great, the auto programs are good enough and it's easy to transport. When I'm doing a wedding gig, I place it on the floor in front of the DJ booth and it has a great impact, the people love it! The sound triggered auto-mode is fantastic, it follows the beat perfectly and the strobe effect triggers mostly on the build-ups. notes: - It looks great if you ceiling-mount it in the middle of the room. (for bars/clubs) - If you have it on a stand behind you, you'll need to do some dmx programming since the automatic movements are more downward oriented so it won’t hit the floor in front of you much...
