Yamaha SLG200N TBK

Yamaha SLG200N TBK

I principally use the SLG200N for practice when the kids are asleep. Simple as that. Ideas that come in the night need not wake up anybody anymore, as the actual un-amplified sound is about as quiet as an unplugged electric guitar. It feels and behaves like a nylon-strung guitar, as it is. I play folk fingerstyle on steel and nylon electroacoustic normal guitars, so it has a place with my regular collection. The setup is classic Yamaha accurate - precise and built for discerning musicians. Pros: it's a proper guitar for practice that sounds good through earphones or amplified. Cons: only being slightly picky, but the limitation to just one microphone emulation narrows things, but I use my Yamaha THR5A practice amp/preamp (obviously through headphones if I want to be quiet) and then it...

Ovation Pro Series Classic 1773AX-4-G

Ovation Pro Series Classic 1773AX-4-G

I already had an Ovation steel-string guitar and 4 string bass both of which are 5 stars in my book. I like the Ovation OP-Pro electronics and pickup on all 3 instruments. This 1773-AX-4 is fabulous. As a steel string player most of the time, the neck on this guitar is not as wide as a standard classical guitar, so, it's easy to switch between instruments. And it sounds excellent plugged in, and acoustically, too. I took it to an unplugged jam night recently - there were 4 nylon string guitars there, and all the players wanted to play my Ovation. I wasn't particularly impressed with the strings it came with (I never am) - I like Savarez nylon strings, which lifted the sound from excellent to sublime. It's a joy to play and I love the sound.

I've been in love with this guitar since I saw it. I was on the lookout for a travel size, very small body guitar for a year. I found Cordoba on one of my man-hunts for good quality travel guitar. The size is exactly what I wanted. Small, but does not take away from the sound quality, in fact, the guitar has a beautiful tone! I'm quite impressed with how it feels, even the strings it comes fitted with are very decent quality. The only thing I would nit-pick is that the wood of the body is veeeery thin. I imagine it's needed to uphold sound quality considering its size, but I'm a little afraid about long-term durability or it cracking easily. Regardless I absolutely love this guitar and would absolutely recommend it !

Godin Multiac Grand Concert Natur

I recently bought and received with DHL, a Godin Multiac Grand Concert Natural HD, along with a hard case. Excellent packaging from the store, and fast and safe shipping !! Well ... some comments about the guitar ... I am basically a classical guitarist (with great love for jazz and especially Brazilian jazz !!), who studied at the National Conservatory of Greece, and I am also a member of the union of Greek composers. My basic guitar is a Ramirez .. !! I dare say that I had a concern about having difficulty from switching back and forth to / from the classical ... To my great surprise as soon as I grabbed it in my hands I found that the guitar is made for classical guitarists, who want an electro-acoustic sound, with huge midi capabilities, especially if the guitar is combined with the...

Traveler Guitar Ultra Light Acoustic Maple

Traveler Guitar Ultra Light Acoustic Maple

Super happy with this guitar. Pros: - Ultra small and light. Possibly allowed by some airlines as cabin bag. - Action is perfect for something made in China. Even high up on the neck, still perfectly playable and still in tune - Makes very little sound without plugging it in (I have not tried that), which allows you to play as much as you like in your hotel room (see cons below) Cons: - weight is distributed very differently from your normal guitar, so you might need to hold it on the other leg, or at a different angle - Makes very little sound...(see Pros above) 2 things I have not tried and might be worth checking out: - A strap might make it easier to hold - Headphones of amp

First of all, let me say that I have put 5 stars for all the aspects NOT because it is "the best" in everything. I have put 5 stars because for the price, you get a very complete product perfectly usable, perfectly comparable to products of the same price, and with the added value of the detachable mechanism. For the price, you get: - The guitar - A backpack - A couple of "bridge saddles" with different size (spanish: "selletas") The body is smaller, so maybe the sound is less "rounded" than the sound in a full-size guitar, but very little difference. Everything else is "full size" so the feel of playing is similar to normal guitars. Let me say that each time you ensemble/mount the guitar takes a time to arrive to a tuning stable situation...

I love this guitar M! As a lefty I needed to to convert it as there is no left hand version available. This was relatively simple to do as the saddle wasn’t on a slant. I’m so glad I got it and haven’t put it down for the last two weeks. It’s my go to guitar for playing at home and I am considering getting the flamed mahogany now too. The balance is super and the small size makes it easy to play but it’s not too small so as to be tricky. Very high quality for such a bargain price. My only gripe is the lack of included case but any generic 1/2 size classical case will work.

I ordered this as I needed a nylon string for an upcoming gig, and this guitar seemed like good value. When I received the guitar, I was honestly blown away by the quality. Firstly, it's a very striking looking guitar. The binding really adds to the instrument and the fingerboard is a beautiful slab of rosewood on an extremely comfortable mahogany neck. The fretwork is really excellent on this. Although there was very little neck relief when I received the guitar, this guitar has a truss rod so I was able to fix this very quickly. In terms of hardware, the tuners are extremely smooth, accurate, and easy to turn (unlike many classical guitars I've played). The guitar sounds great plugged in and there is absolutely tons of volume on tap - far more than standard electric guitars, which I...

Yamaha SLG200NW NA

Yamaha SLG200NW NA

I bought this guitar mainly to practice while living in a shared flat with other people in order to not bother everyone. (I have a Conservatory degree in classical guitar) The instrument must not be confused for an electrified "classical" guitar. Although the diapason and dimensions of the fretboard are from standard classical models, the sound is compressed and relatively heavy on the low frequencies. You will not experience the same dynamic range and richness of sound and colors that you have from a custom made classical guitar. Having said that, it is a great instrument to practice in near silence or experiment with pop / jazzy styles. The tuning is stable and the neck is perfectly set up as for all cheap Yamaha classicals. Everything from neck, fretboard and hardware seems...

Yamaha SLG200N TBS

Yamaha SLG200N TBS

I like this guitar very much. It is not a "real" classical guitar, and under optimal conditions the acoustic sound of an high-end classical guitar (which costs a lot more than this one) is better. However, if you have to amplify your sound or to record it, this is A LOT better. When I record using my home equipment, the sound of my classical guitar is not nearly as good as the sound I get from the Yamaha silent. Maybe using expensive studio equipment this would be different, but in any case the Yamaha silent gives you an excellent sound with a very simple setup. Of course, it is very useful also for practicing: you hear the sound from the strings so that you can practice even without headphones, but with no resonating body you can practice for hours as long as you close the door...
