About Daddario

Founded : 1974

D'Addario is a prominent manufacturer of musical instrument strings and accessories. The company was founded in 1974 by the D'Addario family, which had a long-standing tradition of string-making dating back to the 17th century in Italy.

John D'Addario Sr. and his sons, John Jr., James, and Peter, established the D'Addario company in New York. Initially, their focus was on producing high-quality strings for violins, violas, and cellos. The D'Addario family's expertise and commitment to excellence quickly gained recognition among musicians, leading to the company's growth and expansion.

In the 1970s, D'Addario began to diversify its product range by introducing strings for guitars, mandolins, and banjos. The company's dedication to research and development led to innovations such as the use of phosphor bronze in acoustic guitar strings, which offered enhanced tonal characteristics and longevity.

As the company continued to expand, it invested in modern manufacturing facilities and advanced technologies to meet the growing demand for its products. D'Addario embraced computer-controlled winding machines and quality control systems to ensure consistency and precision in its string manufacturing processes.

In addition to strings, D'Addario expanded its product lineup to include a wide range of musical instrument accessories. The company produces capos, picks, straps, cables, reeds, and other items that cater to the needs of musicians across various genres and instruments.

D'Addario's commitment to sustainability has been a significant focus for the company. They have implemented initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint and promote environmentally friendly practices. D'Addario introduced packaging made from recycled materials, and they established the Playback string recycling program, which encourages musicians to recycle their used strings.

Over the years, D'Addario has continued to innovate and collaborate with prominent artists and musicians to develop signature series strings and accessories. These collaborations have resulted in products tailored to the specific preferences and playing styles of renowned musicians.

Today, D'Addario remains a leading manufacturer in the industry, known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainable practices. The company's strings and accessories are trusted and utilized by musicians worldwide, spanning various genres and instruments. With a rich history rooted in craftsmanship and a dedication to meeting the evolving needs of musicians, D'Addario continues to be a name synonymous with quality and excellence in the music industry.

Good set of strings, with the tone I wanted. I haven't had them on the bass long enough to comment on durbaility but I like them. It's worth noting that I've gone for a slightly heavier gauge than my lest set, to facilitate playing in drop C# (a 100-gauge bottom string got a bit too soft for comfort on my bass).

I'm always amazed how bright these strings make my guitar sound. I use these on an older model Guild OOO guitar and these strings always give it new life. Being able to buy a set of 3 is good value as well. the strings tend to last a decent amount of time before they need changed as well, but that obviously depends how much you play. Good deal.

Replaced 10g with this 11g. And I can fell big difference in how I play. Strings don't bend soo easy and you stay in tune if you push hard on strings like I do.

Daddario XTAPB1047-3P Extra Light

Dear Madam, Dear Sir, Thank you for asking me to review the products I bought from you. The Daddario extra light strings were quickly put on my 50 year old acoustic Fender. The treble strings are bright and easy to bend. However, what struck me the most was the clarity of the bass strings (D,A, E). There is no question about these strings being infinitely brighter than my previous extra light...

They sound pretty average and rust quite fast. Not my go-to's, probably more worth it to invest in Daddario's more premium collections.

I play 3-4 nights per week for last 30 years, I've tried a few different brands over those years but I keep coming back to these. I HAVE NEVER, EVER, BROKEN ONE OF THESE DURING A GIG! And that's saying something. The 12's are a well balanced set giving the right amount of top/mid/bottom tone for playing all styles without changing instruments, a must for a gigging musician. I get...

I've been using Daddario for over 10 years and I think I might be able to count in one hand the few times I broke a string (I know, I'm exaggerating but I just want to stress the point). I play lead most of the time so, that means lots of bendings and solos. Besides that, these strings manages to keep the clarity for a long time before becoming dull sounding. I genuinely recommend it!

I finally stack with them. Good sound , long lasting.
