Solid sound for gigging musicians

I play 3-4 nights per week for last 30 years, I've tried a few different brands over those years but I keep coming back to these. I HAVE NEVER, EVER, BROKEN ONE OF THESE DURING A GIG! And that's saying something. The 12's are a well balanced set giving the right amount of top/mid/bottom tone for playing all styles without changing instruments, a must for a gigging musician. I get three nights of bright, clear sound and I can stretch to four nights if I'm not feeling overly pushed. After that they will start to loose their 'metalic springiness' but are quite playable if your not too fussy. Well packaged and sealed, I buy 20 sets at a time and the last set is as fresh as the first. All in all these are my go to strings for acoustic and previously electric gigging.

Great strings for Martin 00-15m in D tuning

These are my bread and butter strings for my Martin 00-15m in D tuning (full step down). The sound of the strings perfectly complements the warm complex timber of the guitar and they maintain their sound a decent amount of time for the price. Cleaning the strings after use with Dunlop string cleaner will prolong their life.

Great value for the money

I am not committed to one brand of string, I use Martins, Ernie Ball, DR strings and they are all sounding fine to me. The D'addario are just sounding as good as the aforementioned strings, but on plus side I like the packaging (set of 3, set of 10) which provides a real good value for the money.

I love the 10-pack: great for the more pro-ish musician

D'Addario just does what they do best, which is making good and reliable strings.

I have been using D'Addario for all my basses and guitars, and this set was a nice addition to the tonal possibilities of the instruments.

Good for it?s price

I am using daddario strings for 8 years now, and 5 on acoustic. I do 2-4 acoustic gigs a week so I change my strings preaty offten. I love that they come in the pack of 10 so I don?t have to buy 10 pack seperatly. The sound is good as any daddario strings

great, long-lasting

i love these strings -- been using them for 4 / 5 years now exclusively. sound great when fingerpicking, also nice for more aggressive playing.

also, they last for ages -- i quite like how they sound once they've been worn-in a bit, so i can go months without changing them.

Great Strings

I have used these strings for over 20 years and find they are the best quality out there for me.

Long lasting and don't break as often as others.

The 10 pack is also the best value you can get.

Great strings

For a while I have only used D'addarios. They sound great, they last at least as long as their competitors and they are among the cheapest. The multipacks are excellent value. Always worth adding some sets to an order

I have been using martin strings for many years now. After trying these I think I have converted.

These strings stay brighter for longer , feel cleaner for longer and sound just as good. Although they are slightly more expensive, because they last longer I think they are worth it.

I play mostly rhythm based riffs in an acoustic trio.

Good strings, best value for money

I am using D'addario EJ16 since about 5 years on different acoustic guitars, and I am as happy as on the first day.

These strings have a great sound which lasts a very long time. Although my strumming is really hard and i play up to 5h a day (without amplifier) their sound lasts up to a couple of weeks.

Their color system to differentiate the strings is pretty simple and easy to get used to.

Also D'addario has a high standard on quality - so do these stings.

With the 10P packet you get the best value for money. I would never go back to other companies or strings.

Great strings

Consistent quality and good value. I've been using these strings on my acoustics for years. It was interesting that recently, having tried an old (very old) favourite set of strings from many years back on a 1973 Gibson J40, I swapped back to these Daddarios and the guitar just came alive. The strings I'd tried were a Martin "Silk and Steel" set which can work wonders with their "low tension mellowness" but not it this case.

Tried many others of course but always end up coming back to these strings.

A good buy

I'm a music teacher and so dealing with broken strings is practically a daily occurrence. I got these so when a string goes we can just get back to the lesson within a few minutes. Granted I now have 10 incomplete sets of strings but I have happy students so I see it as a win-win situation!

The strings are good quality and have a good sound. Not much else to say really. They're strings!

My go to strings for my acoustic

First of all i am by no means an expert on strings .....as i have tried not many besides the EJ16's. Never had to.

But that said.......i have never had one broken on me while playing. Even though i bend strings regularly.

As it comes to tuning i am a real tuning freak, before playing i tune each string to the exact by using a digital tuner. And re-check regularly during practice.

Most of the time the strings stay in tune for 2 days straight, i guess this also depends on the guitar but still a lot has to do with the quality of the strings.

I have very acidic sweat....and after every couple of weeks these strings tend to loose its shine. After 4 weeks, the tone yet in tune becomes a little dull, and i have

to replace them with new ones.

After restringing the strings, it usually take an hour of playing for them to settle....and after a day of being on the guitar they keep consistently in tune with only minor fluctuations (halfway a half step max).

Buying them in these 10 packs...seems to be the cheapest deal. And i like the idea of having enough packs in reserve....to never run out of them.

oh yes

love these strings - i've been using these for years now and never had a dead string

they last well and have a great tone - i don't remember ever having broken one either for that matter
