Daddario EJ26 Reviews
Quite good acoustic strings
I tried alot of different string sets for my acoustic guitar:
Elixir, Dunlop, Rotosound, other Daddario sets.
Actually I'm not satisfied with this set also, but this is one of those sets I get back to, because I didn't found anything better. At the moment I use it on my Yamaha FG830. Fits pretty good, yet there's lack of something in tone, like it is not that rich. Still I didn't found anything better, so right now
I'll stick to Daddario EJ26.
I never broke strings on my guitar, though I play in different styles, and this string set is not an exception. Also long lasting doesn't matter for me, I play quite often and change strings every month, regardless capabilities of strings. Also don't forget about issue of new strings to sound too metallic, it wears after couple of hours.
Get this strings if you need light blues and jazz sound,
or you're singing and playing some acoustic songs.
Overall good
Sound very good but after a month they become fragile and it's harder to tune them in standard E.
Pros : Sound well, easy to bend, good for blues, funk and jazz, worth the money.
Cons: first and second string are easy to break. If you are going to play rock or metal song using heavy bends the strings are not going to live more than two month. This was case unfortunately.
for my fender cd
awesome guitar string, mainly for chord playing but you can solo too but for a little..maybe for a solo acoustic you will need a 11's or 10' better
Great Strings
I use these strings on my home acoustic and my gigging acoustic. They are the only strings that I like to use based on the quality of sound and the price. i tried Elixers but would prefer these any day. Can re string your guitar three times with these for the price of one set of Elixers. I found the Elixers to go dull just as quick as these.
Good purchase
As always this company produces nice strings.
Decent
They do the job. Just decent strings from a big and trustable name. I use them for a western from Canada (Art & Lutherie). Somehow they have a rusty feel though, but maybe I should have ordered a bit lighter set.
I love these strings
These are my 'go to' acoustic guitar strings. They such a lush, rich sound which I like, and also feel great under the fingers. You'll know when to change them as the dulling of the sound is very clear but that's not to say that they don't last long. These are great performing strings both plugged and unplugged and it brings out the best qualities of your guitar!
Good.
B-string broke on the second use and had to be replaced. Although I didn't find these durable, the sound was good. Great value for money. Handy to have at home for spares.
Love em
I got these in my heavily modified Epiphone EJ 200. They sound awesome and seem to last longer then most strings. They also stay in tune alot better then most other strings too.
Have been using these strings for 6 years now
Simply put I've tried almost every other set of Elixir/D'addario acoustic strings and this is the set I've always returned to. Cheap and highly functional - using these on a Taylor 314ce and they deliver a beautiful crisp tone without sounding too harsh in the high end - nice presence boost around the 5k area which really helps to cut through in recording situations.
There is quite a high amount of string noise but you could remedy this with something like fastfret if you really wanted to.
These strings last just as long as any other acoustic set (barring coated strings, though these have a vastly different feel and tone in my opinion).
Overall...
Overall good stuff. Nice and easy to mount. Has OK sound for the price. I would for sure buy 2 sets of these than one set of priceier strings. They are a good set for the value.
Decent Strings
A set of decent strings, never had any of these break on me whilst I have been playing and so the quality of this product is reasonably good. They sound pretty good for the price when you put them on, but loose their brightness pretty quickly to my ears. Whilst they're not expected to last quite as long as some elixir strings (or other coated string for that matter), they faded faster than I would have liked compared too some other brands of non coated strings. In my opinion, these strings are adequate for practice, a live show or two and rough recordings.
I like those strings
I sometimes try different strings but always return to this. To me they sound best. I find it difficult to describe the sound of strings, so I can only recommend to check them out. The price is not thar high anyway.
My new standard
Used on Takkamine EG541SSC. After using mostly Martin strings for almost 10 years I try the Daddario. They really convince me. The sound is bright but also warm at the same time. It feels like the guitar has more dynamic than with Martin strings withthe same gauge.
As always excellent.
As always D'Addario is my first choice for guitar strings. Very good clear sound and the price is acceptable. I'v tried many different brands of strings before and always come back to those.
Nice sounding strings
These strings sound very nice on my Loar parlour size guitar. Bright but not thin sounding. These strings seem to stay sounding great for a long time and they feel nice under my fingers.
Review of Daddario EJ26 strings
On testing these out a while ago I thought they are good standard string for the steel strung acoustic. These sound fine to me, they sound bright and clear but you don't hear that tinnyness you seem to get of cheaper stings. These are the mid price range strings that you will see in every guitar shop in the world probably so yes I'd buy them again they are easy to find and do the job just fine.
