Rough feeling but nice sound

The feel under the fingers is rougher that nickel plated strings, so maybe if you like sliding a lot, be a bit careful. Adding this to the medium gauges in this pack, it means that they can be quite hard to play in standard tuning (34" scale). I have used them mostly in D and D# standard tunings and they were much easier to play.

That said, the sound is nice and bright and are lasting quite a long time (had them on exactly a year since i bought them and am still enjoying them), but as usual your mileage may vary, depending on how much you play and many more variables.

Overall I am very satisfied and will most likely keep buying them.

Okay

Sounds great for the first 2 weeks, then the clarity rapidly degrades.

Can't fault them.

Great strings, lovely clarity to them. Feel really comfortable to play.

Nice sound

I've been using them for many years, tried lots of different strings and this ones work best for my purposes

Good strings

I bought them for a Spector Euro LX 5, they have a great bright sound to them and I am very pleased with them.

I am really enjoying the sound of these strings! I like having a slightly trebley sound anyway and these strings give me the twang I've been looking for. The tension throughout is very good, and although I was worried that the B string would feel somewhat loose and thwappy (technical term! ;-) ), but thankfully, this hasn't been the case. I think I will be using these strings as standard for my fretted base :-) Now.... do they come in flat wound....

Ideal for recording

I bought these as a guitarist, rather than a bass player. They go on my Ibanez 5 string for recording purposes only.

The strings sounded good going through my Avid 11 Rack into logic, both using DI tracks and the built in Amp Simulator. They provided the clarity needed in the low end of the mix without being too thick (the lowest string was tuned to A). The strings were also a good length, with lots of extra string for extended scale length.

While not hugely experienced in buying bass strings, I was happy with my purchase as they fit my needs perfectly.

Serious bite

These strings have some serious bite-perfect for rock/metal applications. Probably not your first port of call for soft jazz, however. They respond well and play nicely, and after breaking in they're good enough for slap. They lose their character when their life is up though, and that life isn't particularly the longest going.

If you're looking to find 'your strings', definitely give these a go, though don't expect fully versatile strings that last weeks.

Wow - glad i did not buy new bass guitar

I had (still have) a 5 string Fender Squire Jazzbass that sounded not to good.

I have a plan for changing the mics, and gave a superb basplayer a call.

His only reply was, have you tried to change strings, ehhh... nooo....

Do that first, and if not better, maybe strings.

Then i ordered this one, and some other types to be sure.

After change to this one, i got a new sound in my bass.

Like getting a new guitar...

This one deliver the brightness and the bottom i was looking for.

Superb bottom, and nice bright sound.

Have not tried the other yet, once i do, i write this here.

A whole new world!

My bassist bought these for his bass after seeing a comparison between these and the nickles on youtube. The difference was immence! The increased clarity of prosteel strings are amazing. Buy these! Now!
