Great strings

What more can be said about these strings.

They are the usual top quality one can expect from a manufacturer such as D'addario.

They handle drop C tuning on my guitars perfectly. 10/10

Best sound

I use those strings on my Ibanez RGA321 and it's in drop C most of the time so those strings are perfect for 25.5 scale in this tunning. Also are ok in drop B but I prefer them in drop C because of the tension. Sound is better then some like Elixir or Dunlop ect. I has more brightness and I like it.

Great for drop C

Tried loads of sets for drop C, since I tried this I stopped searching. Great tension and balance, corrodes relatively fast (although I got sweaty hands and I play a lot) but affordably so it's OK.

Preferred set for drop C

Good tension, good sound, inexpensive. What's not to like? Don't see the use of paying 10-15€ for other strings that "last longer, sound crispier and make unicorns appear" (or some other marketing bs)...

Great for people who likes thicker strings

I have been using these string for E std, half step down, D std and Drop C for a while.

I like thicker strings with lots of tension, so I've moved over to EXL148's to Drop C and D std.

But these bad boys have more than enough tension in in them to not be floppy all the way down to Drop B.

Like i said, i just prefer heavy gauge strings.

They last a good amount of time with Fast Fret, though they last without as well.

I know some people hate Fast Fret with a passion.

Pro's:

- D'Addario quality and dependability

- Lasts a decent amount of time

- Great sound for a great price

Con's:

- None I can think off.

Daddario are always the best

There was a time when I was trying different string manufacturing. I've tried 5-6 different companies. Once found Daddadrio it is just a matter of size to choose further. Never had any problems with Daddario. Their strings are nice on feel, bend and sound.

Took this size to try a new C drop tunning with an additional 0.59 for the 6th tring to have tight response when shreding. So far so good. Just need to raise a bit the action since the 6th string is often hitting the frets and those buzzzzz.

Badass strings

They are massive when playing in dropped or normal B and A#

Most balanced tension

Best set on the market for moderate down tuning. The tension is almost perfectly balanced and progressive from the thickest to the thinnest gauge, as far as I know no other set comes so close. I used those for maybe a decade.

Perfect for D Standard / Drop C on 25.5''

These have been my go to strings for the past year for my guitars. I like my string tension relatively high, and these strings work perfectly for the tunings I like:

25.5'' (648mm) D standard & Drop C

24.75'' (628mm) D# standard & Drop C#

Strings for wicked

i use these strings on all of my guitars(2xgibsons), the thickness is ideal for a D-tuning or dropped.

Only weird that it feels looser on a fender jaguar(d-tuning) but thats because i like a good tension.

neat package and good price.

My favourite strings

I play in C sharp tuning. These strings are perfect for that. You'll get at decent tension on the bass string but still a light top to do nice bends and smooth solos. I got these initially because some stringsets come with g-strings that seem to be to thick, which resulted in sharp notes all over the neck. As I didn't want to file my nut, I just got these...

Great clarity, i use this for standard D, i like the good tension in my 25,5 charvel.

I use these for drop C or standard D tuning on 24,75" and 25,5" scale guitars, which provides me with a good, balanced tension: not too floppy, not too tight.

+) Been using them for about three years now and think i can count the ones i've broken on one hand. They keep their clarity and attack pretty long. For the price i haven't found better sets for my needs.

-) Only downside is that the unwound strings oxidate pretty fast (3/4 shows and some rehearsels). Might be personal because of my sweat...

Best string for Drop C (25.5" guitar)

I always loved this combination of 11 and 56 strings...Got that chunkiness of the low strings and the fast high while maintaining the tightness of the whole gauges...if you play some of those sweet Killswitch Engage riff...these strings got you covered

Great Strings!

I use these for Drop C on my 25.5" scale guitar and they are great. They hold tuning, are quite bright which I like and are the right thickness to keep tension for this kind of tuning.

Love them!!!

Just that...

I find in them anything I need, tone and definition-wise, and I just couldn't be happier with their quality!!!

I like to play around with different tunings, and thet offer a wide range of gauges. Also, the fact that a huge range of singles of any gauge are available to customize sets, is brilliant!!!

From time to time I try other brands, and many are OK, but is just I have found my feel and tone with D'Addario, and I'm always going back to using them.

It's a matter of taste, as always when sound is involved.

For me they're PERFECT, I love them!!!

use it for drop B

I use this strings for drop B tuning (so C# with a lowered to B C# string) and they feel quite good. I am used to play with ultra light strings on standard tuning (usually an hybrid 8-46) so they feel a bit harder then expected. I guess they would be too hard for me if i would be tuning the guitar another half step up to the standard D tuning suggested on the box. But it's just a personal preference. I changed the 56 to a 60 for the low B.
