Great strings

I have always used these strings. the sound is consistent and i really like the old round wound sound you can get out of them if you leave them on long enough. in short the really great strings.

G string broken in seconds....

This is the first time I buy these strings...and the last one.

The G string snapped immediately after I started to tune it..Couldn't believe my eyes. Never had such issues before with my bass, meaning, the quality of the strings must have been low..

Great strings!

Best strings if you want smooth feel of flat wound strings and open, clear, penetrating sound of round wounds. Excellent built quality.

Cheaper than ernie ball, not quite as bright, but a hell of a string set nonetheless.

sound really good and the life span is great.

They are my favorite. For jazz bass setup, in my opinion, they're the best pick.

Really good bass strings!!

I'm a guitarists so in coming from that point of view but regardless. I tend to use D'addarios on my regular guitars and Ernie Ball on some other guitars but I thought I'd give these a bass for the bass for price reasons and I liked the gauge that was offered.

Great strings and hold up well and keep brightness and sturdyness for a good while.

Not much else to say other than I'll most likely be using these brand/gauge for a while!

Nice strings

I use this strings with my fender p-bass. It sounds very good with this strings, length of this strings is enough, I don't have any problems at all.

I actually a big fan of d'Addario strings and my opinion may be not objective on 100%, but anyway, this strings are very nice, I definitely sure. =)

Sound good while they're fresh.

I love the sound and feel of fresh strings, and I've been trying a good few brands to get the lasting freshness and for a good feeling string.

The strings certainly last longer than other brands but I didn't like the initial feel of the strings. They feel rough on the fingers. Not bad, but not desirable either. By the time this roughness starts to wear out, the strings have started to lose their freshness. The one way to fix this is to use some sort of string lube, but I'd rather a string that would feel good out of the box.

Still my favourite bass strings

I have been using these strings for several years now on my j-style basses and been using them for different kinds of music (pop, reggae, jazz, old school funk, blues).

The D?Addarios sound well balanced to my ears and are suitable for many styles of music.

They deliver a quite well balanced tone with a good ?zing? but they do not sound too aggressive.

I think the playability and feel of the D?Addario strings is just right - not too sloppy not to stiff

The ball ends of the strings are colour coded, which is a nice touch, that makes changing strings even easier.

I play roughly 1 to 2 hours a day and never had problems with rust/oxidation on the strings (I wipe them down with a cloth after playing, though)

How long do they sound fresh? Really depends on how much you play them:

I play/practice around 1 hour a day and found out that after about 1 week the sound has mellowed out pretty much, which, for me is only a concern if you need a lot of high-end in your sound (slap).

Bottom line:

Well balanced and well-proven bass strings at a good price. Good also for beginners that want to find out what?s their favourite tone.

Best bass strings on the market

I gave used many different types of bass strings for my fender precision and my Hagstrom Viking basses but the Daddario XL heavy bottom, light top are the best I've tried. They work perfectly if you have to tune to drop D and even hold their shape in Drop C.
