Great strings!

Great and durable as allways with D'Addario products.

Value and Consistency

Been using XL's for close to 30 years, never had any issues whether on tour or in the studio, across all gauges and types.

As usual top quality from Daddario. Bought these for my Mikey Way signature mustang bass. great sound and clarity, really work well with the humbucker.

Always consistent quality from Daddario. Wish they did a hybrid set of 40-100 though.

Like all their strings, bass and guitar, these are consistently great and don't cost the earth. I wish they had a hybrid set in 40, 60, 80, 100 gauges, but I have found a work around (albeit expensive). I just use the 100 and 80 with a 60 and 40 from a standard 34" set -as these are not too thick to go through the tuner posts and the extra length can just simply be cut off. Does mean I'm amassing a nice and useless collection of short scale 45 and 65 strings though....wonder if I'll ever find a buyer or use for them!

Try them!

I changed the gauge on my short scale Hofner from 40-60-75-95 to these (45-65-80-100). They are one size thicker and give the bass a fuller tone.

Daddario exl170s

I bought these strings for my short scale warwick corvette bass. Be wary - despite being short scale strings they don't fit the 30" warwick corvette. I'm sure I'll get use out of them on one of my other basses and they'll sound good but it is a little annoying that they don't fit the bass I intended them for.

My first pick

My first pick of strings. Great balance and sound for the money. Lacks that super bright heights that just sounds annoying, so to me thats a definite plus. Feels god to play and last as long as you could expect. Great strings!

Nickel-wounds as they should be

The Daddario EXL170S are what i expect from good nickelwound strings. The got a warm and full tone, but still some bright ones. I use them on my Ibanez acoustic bass, and they fit really well. After using them half a year, they kept their sound without gedding muddy or loosing any sustain.
