Great sounding strings

Bought these strings for my Harley Benton Mandolin, they made it feel ike a brand new instrument. 10/10 recommend these

Good mando strings

Good quality, durable strings with a nice bright sound.

Pro tip for anyone who's new to the loop end strings: while tightening a new string, really keep an eye on the loop end and make sure it doesn't snap off the hook during the process.

If you don't know, you'll thank me later.

If you know, well you know why it sucks :)

Best mandolin strings

This is probably the best mandolin string set out there!

The Industry Standard for a reason

Well not much to say, these strings kick butt. Sound great for pretty much anything on any mandolin I've put them on.

Quality is top notch, sound is bright and rings beautifully. Nice balance across the strings.

Watch out if you have chronic acid hands though as if you are playing 2-3 hour gigs in the summer they will be dead after one or two shows. Fast fret will get you a third show with good tone (though less brilliant) then it's time to restring.

Great strings, if a bit pricey

So my mando luthier put these on my Weber Gallatin after setting it up and they do sound great. They've been on there for several months now. I use GHS fast fret before and after playing, which I believe has also contributed to their logevity.

They still play smooth, though the tone is of course completely dead. If I were to gig with the strings or record I would change them more often. If and when that becomes the case I will likely look for a cheaper alternative.

But for casual (what's casual? I play 1-2 hours a day) home use and with a little care they remain playable for quite a long time, surprisingly.

Now if only Harley Benton would start producing a cheaper coated alternative.....

The Quality you Expect from a Bestseller

Just as it says on the packaging, these string are warm, bright, and balanced. I got them to replace the stock strings on my mandolin and was surprised how much of a difference they seem to make in the overall tone quality of the instrument.

I think regardless of playing style these strings would be a good choice and it's the obvious choice of many other mando-players out there.

Great strings for any level player and a reasonable price. No complaints here.

Good hurdy gurdy sympathetic strings

I use these mandolin strings as hurdy gurdy sympathetic strings, usually 1/2 a set per instrument. They tune up nicely to C, G, D, A with about a 42cm string length. They take a few days to stretch out but then are very stable. The coating goes dull after a few months but for use as sympathetic strings, they continue sounding and working well for at least a year.

When it comes to the mandolin, these strings are hard to beat

i love these strings really easy to play on a guitar with a nice action, they provide a really warm tone and will last a lot longer than other cheaper strings, never had any tuning problems either.

Good even on a cheap mandolin

I've had abut three sets of these now and am more than pleased with the sound and the life I get from these strings. I'm not much of a mandolin player but happy to strum chords which means that these strings take quite a beating, especially with my heavy handed style:)

Quality strings to improve your mandolin sound

These strings are the best I've ever put on my two mandolins, the phosphor bronze adds brightness to the sound and the rarely break. They also last a number of months and still retain a good tone

Typical good D'Addario quality

My experience of mandolin strings is somewhat limited so I can't guarantee that these are the best. But my experience of D'Addario for other instruments is that they are reliable, long-lasting and sound great. Compared to the stock steel strings that came on the mandolin, these strings are amazing. The volume difference was very noticeable, as was the mellow tone from the lower notes but still retaining brightness on the unwound strings. I'll be buying these again.

sound strings

These strings are excellent, easy on the fingers and music to the ear. They stay in tune really well and suit my Ibanez mandolin perfectly.
