Daddario NYXL0946 5-stars Reviews
Unbreakable strings
I had a spare set whic I had put on my second guitar. They've been on it for more than 4 months now. Only the G string went completely black but other than that they're still holding up.
quality
clearly a quality product, maybe still prefer slinkys
Best String I have ever tried!!
In my opinion, those are the best strings I have ever tried, and will probably stick to them from now on!
Excellent for a bit of added tuning stability
I bought these on a whim, as I wanted to really see if they did hold tuning better than the standard D'Addario/Ernie Ball sets.
My Les Pauls hold tuning very well, as I have long shaft locking tuners, to reduce the string break angle, I get the nuts cut perfectly by my local guitar tech and don't deck the tailpiece to the body.
All that being said, the straight string pull guitars I own do tend to stay in tune just that bit longer. So, I stuck a set of these NYXL's on and it has improved the tuning on my Les Pauls even more. Anyone who is used to Ernie Ball Slinky's or D'Addario XL's will be right at home with these.
I didn't notice any different in feel, personally.
They're probably overkill for straight string pull headstocks, but definitely great for steeper Gibson headstock headstock angles.
Very happy with them. Will definitely keep buying.
Great sound. Decent durability
I use them exclusively for about a year now in one of my guitars and they sound like their tremble is more open, not muffled especially the coated ones. They feel great and are easy to play. I tend to change them in two months time at least as they are not as durable as elixir. But for some reason I find their sound more satisfying but I don't think that's objective. Anyway those strings definitely worth a try!
Awsome
Great sustain, sounds amazing and hold the tone for quite a while.
love it
top strings, quality never fails to impress
Very smooth and nice feeling
Once I tried these strings on my guitar, I was mind blown by the quality and feel of the strings, they were also very easy to play and didn't loose the clarity until about 2 moths.
The new standard
For me since they came out these have become the new standard string. Soft, durable and with great tone.
Best strings I played so far
The NYXL series from D'Addario is finally something really interesting in the strings world. I used them across all of my guitars, from Baritone metal tones to a rocking PRS in D, to a twangy Tele in standard and they have always delivered a nice, balanced yet defined tone.
Awesome in the studio - they tend to keep tuning better than other popular options and have a more pronounced fundamental, with pleasing but not harsh overtones.
It should be noted that they are quite defined - not sure if it'd be my choice for a more mellow, delicate approach.
There's no going back
I switched a couple years ago to NYXL's and won't go back to any other string! They are really worth the little extra money over cheaper alternatives. I NEVER had one break on me, they feel great and last so long before needing to change them. Just try them once and you will not be disappointed.
Sometimes it is worth paying more ...
To be honest compared to less expensive strings this eat 'em all ... They are more durable, have greater response, feel better on your fingers and sound great !
What can I say more ? They're just the best strings I've played yet.
After many, many years my now go to strings
When testing this set of strings I discovered the following:
1) Very nice tone !
2) More output compared to other nickel-wound strings of same gauge
3) More stretch for extreme bends
4) Keeps retention better over time compared to other strings
5) Easy to play and nice feel
6) Improved tuning stability
7) A pretty long-lasting "new-string-sound"
8) Keeps that "I just changed my strings feel" much longer than regular strings
My conclusion: Going forward the NYXL series will be my favorite set of strings for most of my electric guitars.
Yes, they are considerably more expensive than the standard D'Addario EXL series or similar brands, so it's up to the customer to decide whether those differences or improvements are worth it.
I particular like the 09-46 options for slightly heavier bass strings.
Excellent product
I have been using different d'Addario strings for awhile and the NYXL series seems to be the best of the bunch. The sound is bright and clear, and the strings keep their sparkle for a little longer than other brands do.
My new favourite strings
I love the NYXL from Daddario. They have such a unique touch about them. The coating on the strings makes your guitar come alive. 10/10
Best strings I've ever used.
These went on, only needed a quick stretch and they've stayed in tune since. Very bright tone and very slinky to play on Highly recommended!
Best strings serie ever. One month is no a limit of lifetime for NYXL strings
Built for the long run
After using Ernie Balls Slinky Cobalts for years, took the leap of faith to use these. Never went back. They are fast to set up, even with a Floyd Rose tremolo it takes me only 15 minutes for full string-up an tuning. They last long enough so the higher cost is justified. They tend to produce a brighter sound than other strings (compared to Elixir and Ernie Balls that is).
Bang for the buck
These are the first el., guitar strings i have bought and changed. String heads come in different colours and its easy to change them cause on packaging there is a manual which string is which.
The sound is nice and clean. They are easy to clean and maintain. They dont dig too much i my fingers and also they bend very easy which i really like.
I highly recommend these.
Very good strings
Best strings for soloing :)
