Daddario NYXL1046-3P Reviews
The best strings I've ever tried
This strings are the best I've ever tried so fa. First of all they stay in tune better than any other strings, furthermore they sound even better than the most expensive strings that you can find. Definitely my go to strings.
The best strings i ever used !
Those strings are so unbelievably strong, with great quality and long life, that you won’t use smth. different, once you try it. Keeps guitar in tune for very long time. The price is higher, but well deserved. One of the best products in the Guitar world.
Great sound and tuning stability
These strings sound great, feel great, and definitely help with tuning stability on some guitars that had issued previously. They also last a bit longer than standard strings, though they are not marketed as a long life string.
Most durable strings ever
These strings last forever. They sound great. They don't have that extra twang some new strings sets have. The sound is great right out of the box and stays great up until you change them. I change them out of habit every few months, but they are usually still good then.
After many years these are now my "go-to-strings"...
When testing this set of strings I discovered the following:
1) Very nice tone !
2) More output compared to other nickel-wound strings of same gauge
3) More stretch for extreme bends
4) Keeps retention better over time compared to other strings
5) Easy to play and nice feel
6) Improved tuning stability
7) A pretty long-lasting "new-string-sound"
8) Keeps that "I just changed my strings feel" much longer than regular strings
My conclusion: Going forward the NYXL series will be my favorite set of strings for most of my electric guitars.
Yes, they are considerably more expensive than the standard D'Addario EXL series or similar brands, so it's up to the customer to decide whether those differences or improvements are worth it.
Excellent strings
Excellent strings with good clarity and a bright tone. Needs almost no stretching and stays perfectly in tune.
Perfect strings
I love the NYXL series. I use these for my Fender Elite Strat and my PRS Custom 22 and they sound absolutely amazing with those strings. They are full of life and last very long. 10/10
One of the best strings in the market but not for me
I really love the strings from Daddario, the sound is really clear and bright, also very strong even with heavy bending, but if you have a sweaty palms or hands like me, this is not for you, especially if you're acidic like me, :D It will get rusty after few weeks only, I'm still thinking if I'll buy this again only just because of my sweaty hands, that is why I still have the Elixir because of the nice coating.
I can say it's nice to use this set of strings, it's really strong, clear tones, but not for sweaty acidic hands.
The best.
The best strings for your electric full stop. Great price, even better!
The best
If you care about tone then the NYXL are the best strings out there. I have tried them all. I have never broken a NYXL string and I play hard and do alot of string-bending. They also keep their tone for a long time.
first try with the NYXL, very good feel and tuning stability.
perfect
they just feel great and feel that way for a long time , perfect strings
The best strings around
As many guitarists, I also always changed the strings to find "the best". Honestly, mostly I did not hear much of a difference in sound quality, which is the same with this one but these really last. With couple of guitars, it is a hassle to change the strings too frequently - NYXL solved this for me.
Totally worth.
Exactly what i wanted... Clear, tight sound and less tuning problems.
Very Stable and Strong
If you are a fan of d'Addario strings then you will love these. They retain all of the sound & feel of d'Addario XL nickel wound strings but also offer greater strength & tuning stability. They do not require much time to stabilise after installation so you won't need to keep re-tuning your guitar. Even if you do a lot of bending the tuning remains stable and you have no fear of string breakage. I would highly recommend these strings.
nothing special
I play for 30 years and have tried many strings. I like Boomers a lot because they are bright and their freshness does last for a long time. I wanted to beef up my tele so i decided to try the nyxl set.I am a Guthrie Trapp fan and i was sold by their marketing and claims. Generaly i am not fond of d'addario and this set reminded me why i don't like them. The have a neutral sound too balanced for my taste. As for the claim that they are louder i did not notice any difference. The thing that really annoyed me is that they make your fingers stick to the string and constrain you. I played them for 4 hours this evening and they died, the feeling of a new string has gone. I hardly ever break strings so i don't care for their claim of strength. I don't think they justify their double price compared to classic sets and I would not buy them again even if they costed so.
These Bend Further!
This was a repeat purchase because my son had already used these, in the band, and decided he was going to stick with them. He has several guitars, but these strings are his first choice to be fitted to his Floyd Rose-equipped Schecter, six-string guitar.
Firstly, their tone is wonderful. Yes, they are not cheap; but that probably won't worry those who are looking for what they can offer. But here is the real reason why my son uses these strings: they bend further than any other type of string he has tried.
These strings make "bending five frets" much easier than any other brand he has tried and I can only assume that, by the same token, they probably stand up better to the abuse a Floyd Rose can subject them to.
With my one-track mentality, I would never have discovered these strings: I would have stuck with my known brand; it's only my son's due diligence to researching equipment that led him to trying them.
If you are into quality strings and you bend strings a lot, I think you will like these. It's an expensive way to try them out but I think you will be pleased; besides: they're probably cheaper here than anywhere else!
Great strings.
This is the first time I have used these strings, I normally use the XL's, but I decided to give them a go, even though they aren't cheap.
I am glad I did, as they are really good. They don't take much stretching & although I cant quite pinpoint why, they feel nicer! They also sound great, I cant say they sound much better than the XL's, but they're certainly no worse.
Can't say how well they last yet, but I am told they should last longer than the standard ones.
Overall I am very happy with them, if they do prove to last longer, then they will be well worth the extra money.
