Great so far.
Have used sever brands of strings over the years non have let me down giving this one a shot.
Right off the package the strings gives an impression that am here to take all the abuse.
Currently i have it on all the guitars, the performance is outstanding.Tonal wise its great but gets boomy in times when played though humbuckers rolling off the tone knob and it sits well in the mix, didn't find that issue when used on single coils.
Tuning is super stable is stringed properly. Very pleased with it. Will only change if someone introduces something better.
Solid performer
I bought a set of these strings to try tame the tuning on my Ibanez RG 2550z GK (late 2009 model). It has the typical Ibanez RG appointments. Double locking whammy with the Z system, this has a thumb adjuster on the back instead of needing a screwdriver to adjust a clay like in a standard Floyd Rose or a Fender style whammy.
After looking around at different strings I thought these looked impressive. Promotional material showed the strings preforming well during "exterme" playing, whammy bar dives, big bends and so on.
Overall the strings are good. They are a standard 10 - 52. I found my Ibanez stayed in tune a little better compared to other strings I had tried. One issue I did have was that the strings do not feel as "slick" under my fingers. This is a personal thing, some people, me included, prefer super slick feeling strings.
These strings are fairly expensive, you could buy 2 sets of a competitors strings for the same money. It all comes down to what your budget is and ow often you need to change them. Are they worth the money? My answer is possibly, you have to try for yourself. I've never seen one break, which is impressive.
Really 1st class , super tough , great feel .
I moved over from Elixir to these in 10-52 gauge , although I was hesitant because I had been using coated strings for years , I took the jump because I had been having breaking issues .
Very glad I did , They have a really strong and full tone , they break much less than the elixir and they stay fresh sounding (not as long as the elixir ,Because those are coated ) . They feel great , and sustain !
Great strings! Tone lasts long! Never breaks!
I have fallen in love with these strings. What made fall in love with them was that it is highly durable, doesn't get corroded or rusted quickly with my highly corrosive sweaty hands, and the sound is very clear!
I've been using Eric Johnson Nickel Rockers for a while as It has a great warm tone but the drawback for me was that it was easily corroded as I had corrosive sweat (If you don't then you should check them out).
As I have already said, these strings are highly durable. I practice a lot everyday and normal strings would have to be replaced every 2 weeks but these strings last me a good whole month without much tone loss. I bend strings a lot as well and these are still energetic.
The sound of these strings are very clear and lasts a long time. Unlike coated strings, these strings don't make any loss of tone which is great!
So basically it's like a coated string without tone loss!
The best thing about these strings for me were again, the fact that it didn't corrode much with my sweaty hands and that it really gives life to my guitar as it boosts the volume (I think due to stronger magnetism) and has better sustain and resonance than other strings I have used before.
The price is a bit more expensive than regular strings but in the long run it is very worth it.
Try them out yourself! I highly recommend it.
Perfect for drop C
Using these on a telecaster for drop C tuning for a tight mid range (you could say djent if you wish, but not as heavy). They do their job brilliantly, cant comment on the longevity of them yet as I haven't played them for long.
The high output of them actually helps them to cut through a mix very well - similar in sound to the ernie ball cobalt series of strings.
Only gripe is the price - are they really worth three times the amount of nickel/steel strings, probably not.
bought for drop tuning
These are really great string and I love the heavy low strings, great for metal and even clean drop tuned tapped stuff.
My only problem is they get dirty very quick, just like every set of Daddario strings I've had.
So Id highly recommend buying some string cleaner just to get off the grime, then these string are close to perfect :)
