Pretty good, but a little bit overpriced

Just got this set for my Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid PT-7. As I don't have much experience with 7 strings, I usually buy different sets of strings from different brands featuring different gauges so I can have an idea. I finally had the chance to restring my guitar and tried this set. First, I went for A standard. However, I did not like the tension so much. After having tried this tuning with NYXL 1164, I decided to go back to Bb standard tuning and I must say I have been really enjoying playing my 7 string with this tuning and tension. It's really inspiring to play and these string absolutely sound great. One thing regarding the price tag though: Although these strings are pretty much priced as premium-ish, I think they are not so different than a regular set of strings. They immediately start changing colour and I don't see why these are priced so high. Maybe it's because the Daddario brand's logictics, but it doesn't change the fact that they are a bit overpriced for what they offer. I still recommend anyone who is looking for 7 string guitar strings, especially for lower tunings.

Quality strings that last a long time

Set costs its money and definitely lasts longer than competitors, no issues with them. Can recommend to anyone.

Great Strings for 25,5 Sevenstrings

Like most metal guitarists, I prefer a tight and thick tone at the same time. After years of experimenting with string sets, I have concluded that the NYXL1164 is perfect for my personal tonal taste. Those keep in tune very well and last almost two months for me even during gig seasons. The best choice for B standard of A drop with a 25,5 scale neck.

NYXL FTW

I've been using NYXLs for a couple of years now.

Being a former Elixir player i was stunned by the sound and quality of the NYXLs.

Also being a heavy handed player the increased durability of the NYXl was a blessing.

Pros: Resilient long lasting string

Doesn't corrode easily

Sound quality lasts as the string gets

older and is amazing

CONS: None that I can think of.

Great strings

These strings are very great for 7-string guitars, the tone is crisp and clean and durability is very long. Stays new sounding for extended periods of time.

Punchy, clear, loud and strong strings on a market.

I was very impressed by these excellent strings. And I can understand all the hype around these strings.

First thing that I?ve noticed immediately is that the strings are noticeably louder than other strings I have had used before. And it is noticeable both playing unplugged and through an amp. I find it good because it gives you more dynamic range and can be good for hard picking players.

The tone is crystal on cleans and very punchy with great presence and good sustain. This probably is the best tone I found so far.

This seems to be a hybrid set of strings, meaning, the bottom strings are light and the top are from a heavy set. This means that you get the best of both worlds because you can have a more balanced set for both string soloing and especially bending and chord playing for heavy rhythm. The great benefit of this hybrid set is the ability to tune your guitar down without losing tension too much which is hard and a can cause problems with thinner string sets.

Strings are strong and I bet they could handle even using with floating bridges without breaking. The only thing to bear in mind is that you might adjust the nut to make these set sits perfectly as it has quite thick bottom strings.

They are pricey to be honest but loudness, punch and clearness makes them worth its money. They last quite long and they are strong so you can change them not so often than other brands strings. I definitely going to use this D'Addario NYXL string set from now on.

Crisp and Tight

I hate floppy strings, especially the 7th, so I looked around for a thicker set for my Ibanez S series 7 string. Not disappointed.

They have a lovely bright, crisp attack which is perfect for the types of metal I play. Thicker strings give more depth to the sound as well, rather than being only bright/tinny.
