Adamas 1919 Historic Reissue
Based on 1 reviews
I mostly enjoy really heavy strings which give me the possibility to strain my fingers even more! So I decided to try the Adamas 1919 Historic Reissue strings& they are warm, earthy& rich in the tone spectrum. The A5, G3& B2/H2 tone is thinner than the gradations of other manufacturers so it gets a special unique tone. It is a fully orientation on the eighties original specifications& the thickness are .x13, .x16, .x25w, .x35w, .x47w, .x56w. Thank you for these interesting strings. Joyable, Lahdo Gorieh, Lahdo
Elixir Nanoweb Medium Phosphor

These go on my Lowden F50 guitar and they suit the instrument well. Changing strings less often while maintaining good tone is an absolute luxury. It wouldn't make sense to buy these if you're prone to breaking strings, aside from the expense, it would defeat the purpose of using something built to last. Also, if you're on an instrument that doesn't sound good to begin with, there's not much to be gained putting these on. If you split your time on more than one guitar these are great. Instead of opening a case after a couple of weeks to find discolored and dead sounding strings that won't tune true, you pick up right where you left off. Put these on a nice instrument and they will sound great for a long time.
Elixir Nanoweb Medium Acoustic

Elixir strings really are wonderful strings. I have been playing acoustic guitar for over fifty years and I have found that Elixirs really do keep their sparkle for a lot longer than most other strings but I think it depends on the guitar you are playing. I like to change my strings often when I'm gigging so I tend to use D'addario mediums on my gigging guitar. I have two other guitars for home use and I am happy to use Elixirs on them. To summarise: well worth the money but only if you do not change your strings often

I started using these strings because my older brother used them. When I became more proficient and looking for different things I started experimenting with other strings, cheaper brands and more expensive brands like elixers, but after a lot of experimenting I came back to these and wouldn't change. They sound great, rarely break, and last very long, they sound great after weeks. I used to play gigs regularly and these strings could last about a month of regular gigging. I don't play live as much now so the strings last much longer and still sound bright. The colour coded ends make string changes easy also.
Martin Guitars MTR13 Tony Rice Sig.Strings

Problems I've had with phosphor bronze stings include the wearing and corrosion on the strings where they meet the pick, and the distinctly "brighter" top end of the high E and B, resulting in too high a tone relative to the thicker strings. These Tony Rice strings are consistent in sound across all strings, and have a mellowness simply not found in PB strings. The only downside to the Martin lineup is deciding which of the Retro strings to buy... that and having a pile of PB string sets that are going to go unused.
GHS TCB-M Phosphor Bronze Medium

I put these on my New Hartford Guild F30, to see how they would preform. normally 12's are recommend on this size, style guitar, but I felt I wanted to try something slightly beefier, so with these the core is round rather than hexagonal which lowers the tension. I was previously using Martin retro 12's which are very nice and suit the guitar quite well. This thin core GHS set feel lovely under the fingers and a'rent quite as heavy and the standard 13 gauge set, the string set is very balanced from E-E and the volume and clarity has also increased, very pleased with them. Going to try GHS on my telecaster next, hopefully with similar results!!! Thanks
Harley Benton Coated Phosphor 013 Anti Rust

I bought these as I love the tone of brand new strings on acoustic guitars and assumed these would keep that tone longer than standard strings and I was not disappointed. In my experience these keep the new string tone for about 3x as long as traditional strings, they also intonate and play well. Only slight negative is that they have a slightly sticky feel to them (which I imagine is the coating) but this isn't enough to put me off them. A great product which I will continue to purchase in quantity.
