Dean Cadillac X Floyd Black Satin Reviews
slow and steady like a cadillac, great quality/price ratio
In the end, it's a nice budget Cadillac, a vintage model which isn't really produced anymore by Dean Guitars as far as I know, or a model that is hard to come across in Europe at the very least, and it's under 500$, so, yes. In my opinion, this shape alone is a banger and is worth the (close to) 500$.
Cons:
- The guitar looks and feels ok, but doesn't really have a premium finish. Here and there you can see imperfections (black spots on the white binding of the neck and headstock, a pointy switch made of a low quality plastic, various small scratches on the pickups and body), not exactly the best craftsmanship but at this price it's expected.
- kind of heavy and uncomfortable to play like you'd play a classic guitar when sitting down
Pro:
- 5 stars for the versatile and rich sound - even from my old beginner level amplifier (line six spider iv 30 watts), you can get any tone you want from death metal to classic guitar.
- the floyd rose bridge seems healthy and sturdy and ready for some abusive divebombs
- great feeling on the fingerboard
- on the same amplifier, tested and compared against some guitars from competitors, the Cadillac mopped the floor with them - whether it's the pickups or something else, I don't know, but I know it sounded much more solid
- with some high end interface, amplifier and pedalboard, it could sound amazing, but this is valid even for 50$ electric guitars from chinese websites, so there's that
