Great sound!

So inspiring to use this pedal, great sound and feeling, sturdy and well constructed!

Amazing pedal and very versatile, however the only drawback is probably the way it works in chord mode with octaves. Overall the pedal makes working with guitars easier in many ways.

best pitch bender in the market

I compared with the Pitchfork and the Ricochet. Because I am very interested in pitch bending, this one suits me best. The bending is superior to the others. Altough the predefined bending motion of the Ricochet has its charmes too. The sound is very good. it is true bypass, also when on (vs Ricochet). You have this harmonic bending options too. From 4th to 5th for exemple. It is a beautifull red pedal. It is simple and it invites using it. Things to know : It has a separate Power supply. It is quite heavy. For my home use no problem.

Thats it!

No need for more, get it and rock on! Get a few ones and adjust the pedal to work a like a pedal steel, octaver and a dive bomb. So you can really robot it out!

Solid as a rock - sounds like a beast

I play with the Whammy for almost a year now.Great tone, nice solid design with a great variety of sound choices.

The only con I that I would suggest as an improvement is a foot switch knob in order to change the sounds.

A classic pedal

As I don't have a tremolo on my guitar and I'm too lazy to deal with setting it up, I decided many years ago to buy a pedal for my divebombs and stuff. Yeah, I know, it's not the same compared to the real whammy bar, but the benefits outweigh the costs for me. Also, when played with a higher gain distortion, it becomes more difficult to notice the difference. And yeah, I don't have to worry about getting out of tune! The tracking is also pretty good, but if you miss those bubbling sounds the older versions make, your needs are covered as well, as there's a classic mode included.

To be honest, I haven't used the pedal for many years, as I kind of grow out of the divebombing and the heavy use of the whammy. Also the pedal is quite bulky, but that doesn't retract anything from the pedal it self and is clearly a problem of mine. :)

great tool for those who want to sound different

when I got it the pedal wasn't calibrated so I fixed it following the instructions provided and now its absolute perfect true bypass and dead on notes sounds great, the pedal is firm and feels good under my foot and it doesn't slip.

Had to buy this to replace my old Whammy 4.

My Whammy 4 is still working well and functional, but its AC power supply has always been such a bugger. Now this new model works with 9V DC, so I can carry this around with my portable setup!! pretty expensive cost though..

it's one of the best pedals i have. it's also the pedal i have had the most fun with.

A definite upgrade from the 4

I held off buying the Whammy V for ages since my 4 still worked. This is a definite upgrade: it uses DC instead of AC, which means that most pro pedal power supplies will work with it, it has much less tone suck when deactivated, and it can do what the previous Whammys did as well as a clean mode. If you're on the fence about this, just buy it.

Built like a tank & tracks really well

This pedal tracks chords far better than I expected it would do, the detune effect on this is one of the sweetest chorus sounds I have ever heard!

Excellent

After reading how much more improved this version is compared to IV, I decided to buy it. The sound is excellent. Tracking is very good and I love the auto-calibration feature (the factory calibration was off in my unit so it was absolutely necessary to get it to calibrate correctly). Definitely recommended if you are into this kind of effects

Does exactly what is suggests

Great for creating those HML weird pitch noises with Your guitar

The best and only whammy pedal I would recommend to anyone. There aren't really any cons, except for a minimal latency, but I mean this is expected with pitch-shifting pedals. Very good product!

Money can totally buy happiness

This is without question the most fun I've ever had with a pedal—just pure, unadulterated fun.

Ever since I first heard Tom Morello's solo on Killing In The Name back in the mid-'90es, I've wanted to have a Whammy. Since then I've seen numerous others, including MonoNeon and Thundercat, use it, so the desire to have one blushed back up now and again.

Now, some 25 years after first encountering the pedal I finally realized that it's perfectly alright to buy a pedal just because it's fun, so I did... Even if you're not necessarily producing anything useful with it, just fooling around doing wonky stuff is absolutely worth the price. Not to mention finally living out the dream of playing the solo from Killing In The Name correctly. My 14-year-old self would have been absolutely awestruck. Money can totally buy happiness.

Only minor annoyance is its pretty aggressive power consumption (1300 mA). It's not likely that your existing power supply on your pedal board will be able to power it. But apart from that, the build quality is top notch, the pedal feels very robust and it doesn't feel like they've skimped on anything building it.

You'll need to use your hands to change program on the program dial (unless you set up midi to control it), so unless you stick to one setting, then you'll be reaching down pretty often.

Other than that, it's smooth sailing. Obviously, since it's a modulation pedal, it has a few tracking issues now and then, but I figure that's impossible to avoid when modulating in real time.

Perfect

I've wanted a Whammy pedal for years. Very glad I've finally got one. This is obviously perfect for Tom Morello style playing but with the harmony setting you can get some weird shoegazey textures too.
