Doepfer A-180-2 Multiples 5-stars Reviews
Does what it should at great price!
It is a very simple module and it does what it should - it multiplies the signal. The passive design is great - you can even use it with or even without a case. This way you can add this to any semi-modular gear that you might have.
The build quality is great and so is the price.
Handy utility. Does what it is supposed to do.
It mults your signal(s) passively, as promised. And it does so without issues.
Great Module
Great module, very versatile and only in 2hp, perfect not to occupy space in your Eurorack ¡
Better than the spiders
Before I took this mult, I was using spiders, but half of the spiders started to fail, which is kinda weird. Anyway, I decided to use rack mult and do not regret. Takes very littel rack space and the connectors feel snug and reliable.
Good multiple
Good price, good quality, almost can't solder one yourself for this price.
I am happy with this
Simple and small. This item do not need a lot of space in my synth. i bouth more than one and i am happy with this.
Not Much to review
Didnt realize how useful Multiples were......
Small foot print and does exactly what you'd expect. I'll definitely be adding more in the future.
I feel mean taking one star off for features (but it doesnt have any), not sure why you'd buy this and expect more.
'Tis nice and thin.
Simple and compact multiple
Does exactly what it is designed to do. Small size, no power needed. Great.
Very useful module
Multiple modules are kind of disappearing from modular world, because of splitting hub and cables, but it's an essential module for many applications and to keep the system clean. It's small and cheap and it's excellent if you need (unbuffered) signal splitting.
Essential.
A few caveats to my ratings:
1star for sound is the least that can be given, obviously it doesn't make any sound.
3 stars for handling - you plug and unplug jacks into it. The quality however is very good and it feels like it will last a long time.
Used for distributing an LFO output to two destinations at once.
Useful.
Neat tidy 2 pairs of 4
I bought 2 of these passive mulitples and they are a very useful 2 pairs of 4 at a very reasonable price and great build quality
Weak socket
The Doepfer Multiples is doing the job as any multiples from other manufacturers at a low price. The only cons thing is that in time the jack sockets are becoming weak in time when using a lot. But even then, the contact will be ok.
Great unit
Very handy to have but well overpriced , there are literally no electronic parts in it beside sockets, it should cost 15-20¤ no more.
This mult unit is very cheap but you might need more
One thing to note firstly is that despite a lot of what you might read in product information on this and other sites the design of this module has changed slightly. When it is shipped from the factory the middle solder bridge between the two groups of four sockets is not joined, so it is now shipped as standard functioning as two groups of four interconnected jack sockets. If you require an eight-way mult you simply have to join the two groups together at the back of the panel. Just a line of solder will do the job. There's not much to say about this unit, other than the build quality is great - as you would expect from Doepfer - and the unit is competitively priced. I don't see any reason to pay more for equivalent modules from other manufacturers, in which case you would simply be paying for the name. One thing I will point out: if you plan to use this module to multiply CV input to drive oscillators then spend a bit more and get the buffered mult unit A-180-3. This will ensure that voltage is consistent on all outputs, meaning that your oscillators will be easier to get in tune with each other and will track correctly.
A simple but very useful module
Bought 2 of these recently and they are an essential tool in any modular system. If I had a criticism it would be that they don't leave a lot of clearance for larger jack plugs. Works fine with the Doepfer branded plugs though and the narrow width means more space for other modules.
A multiple from Doepfer in just 2HP
No modular system is complete without several multiples and I have waited quite a while for Doepfer to bring out a narrow version of theirs. Here it is at last, and it does the job beautifully in just 2HP. Just does the job it is meant to in the least possible space. Well done Doepfer!
