Shakmat Modular Mod Medusa

I was not so sure about this module at first, but then I invested 10 minutes into reading the manual to learn how it works and fell in love with it. Patching these rhythmic LFOs into just about anything can turn even a boring drone into something quite interesting. Fabulous tool.

Actually great multi func. module, good choice for small set ups, but also works nicely in a large systems as well. Only minus is downside potentiometers. They are small and applied too close to eachother and change something quickly is pretty hard. On life performances is not comfortable, only if you pre-patch it.
XAOC Devices Batumi

A very versatile lfo module, especially with the expert firmware or the individual wavebank firmware which makes the poti expander features available. Some menu diving required but that is a small prize to pay when you have a module with many features yet small hp footprint. Great build quality from all XAOC products.
Doepfer A-143-3
Based on 6 reviews
Despite it's mainly a 4x LFO module it works nice in audio range. Compared to 143-4 it takes less space, but has no VC inputs. Nice tool for droning, and the lack of FM can be easily compensated with A-114 (and still takes less place and is cheaper solution). Unliked 143-4 it does not require 45min to fully stabilise, and the oscillators being completely separate chips do not lock. Recommended. PS mind the sawtooth output has double the frequency of triangle and pulse.
Behringer 150 Ring Mod/Noise/S&H/LFO

This great little module has a lot of features to spice up your sound. White noise 2 3.5mm outs, White noise 2 3.5mm outs, a Ringmodulator, A Sample and hold and an LFO. The ringmodulator works great and the inputs are internally wired to LFO and Noice if nothing is inserted to the input jacks. It sounds good, not super metallic (but it can sound metallic) I'd say it sounds more "earthy" and real. The S/H is fantastic. Also internally wired but switchable between noise, LFO and External. This also features a internal clock that you can use to drive other gear if you want. It has a clock in and sliders for tempo and Lag (Slide between sampled voltages). Now to the best piece, The LFO. This little thing doesn't look like much but it packs a lot of features. Firstly it har a...
Doepfer A-145-4
Based on 4 reviews
A nice simple LFO which does exactly what LFOs do, for a reasonable price and not too much space in your rack either. The A-145-4 certainly is useful as either a four LFOs or even as Triggers (or both at the same time too). For the rest, it's a Doepfer, which means good quality product, sturdy knobs and the usual plain look. Otherwise, if you want more control (meaning CV attenuators or whatever), you'll need to put a bit more money towards a more sophisticated module.
Doepfer A-145 LFO Modulation Generator

Great little LFO for the price, rising and falling sawtooth, sine and triangle and then your square wave which is mostly used for clocking other modules, I've found tonnes of uses for mine plugging the falling sawtooth into the cv input on the Doepfer A-132-3 dual VCA makes for a nice click/pluck sound with a lower pulse wave from your VCO.
Erica Synths Pico RND

I use this running off the clock of a DFAM to create Sample and Hold and Sine modulations, usually for augmented the FM amount or externally with a waveshaper. For the footprint, it adds a lot, and the internal clock divider/multiplier is extremely useful. Perhaps one feature I'd have preferred is to swap the Noise output for a Ramp or Reverse Ramp waveshape, as a noise source is easy to come buy in most modular setups, but for what it is it's a great utility module.
Rides In The Storm DMO

It's two LFO/VCOs and they can cross modulate for some really wild effects. It does go into audio rates and has an exponential input, but it doesn't stay in tune over a very wide range of octaves. You can use it for sounds that span over a single octave, like Tom-toms. Build quality is good. The knobs wiggle a little bit but not too bad. The metal plate is very robust. The push buttons feel solid and don't get stuck. There are lots of ways to use this module, it's more than an LFO.
Erica Synths Pico LFO / S&H

I use this for modulating the freq of a filters, the rate of other LFOs and many other cv controllable modules. The S&H function is most useful in combination with a source of voltages to sample, e.g. a random source or another LFO. An attenuator or VCA may also be useful to scale the LFO output. This doesn't have lots of bells and whistles, but for less than £100 and only 3hp, I'm very satisfied.
