Excellent microphone

DPA 4099 fulfills its role with many different instruments such as: snare, tom, trumpet, violin, accordeon, double bass, acoustic guitar, etc. I use it for studio work and also for live mixing. It is built very strong, additional stronger cable is great for live work. Different accessories for different instruments are pretty expensive. All this can be packed in nice bag, which makes it very practical. Sound is detailed, natural, supercardioid polar pattern means it picks up very little stage noise.

Pros: great microphone, especially for live stages, because it really isolates the source.

Cons: Can sometimes be too bright, or a bit thin on some instruments, changing different positions on instruments can help a lot!
