Pyramid Slider Set 8

I purchased an 8 string set to use on a lap steel guitar. Yhe tension of the strings was nife and positive, alloeing for a very easy play with a tonebar. The strings themselves sound very full, with enough top end "zing" to provide the classic lap steel sound. these strings are grest vakue for money. Go on, treat yourself.
GHS Electric Lap Steel LAP-C6

I've been playing guitar for over 20 years but have never tried Lap Steel. So with a bit or research I bought one and a pack of these strings as I read C6 is a common tuning to play in. To me they seem very good quality, sound lovely and so far have stayed in tune after some stretching and playing. For the price they seem a bargain and I will buy again.
GHS PF500 E9

For a (more or less) standard E9 pedal steel copedant these GHS are great! I love the half round wind for less bar noise, and they really last a long time before the intonation starts to go. I've not broken a single third string on either of my steels (EMCI and Excel) in about three years of using these pretty much daily - I like them a lot :)
GHS Hawaiian Lap Steel Set E

I got this set for an old acoustic Hawaiian lap steel guitar from the 1930s. The packaging promised "good acoustic tone" but I don't think anyone would mistake these strings for acoustic strings. They are really more suitable for electric guitars in my opinion. The acoustic tone is extremely bright and quite thin. Some of the strings also have filthy discolorations. They came in sealed, individual plastic bags so must have left the factory that way. I don't expect strings to be polished to a shine but these ones didn't look very nice. They looked old and dirty. They are okay I guess and probably much better on an electric.
Pyramid Custom Lap Steel String Set

Having recently bought the Harley Benton Slider guitar and deciding to make a new"nut"as it was not possible to buy a left handed version,it made sense to fit new strings.Being new to this type of guitar it was a case of taking a chance on the strings to fit-so I chose the"Pyramid Custom Set". They are really good with a bright but not strident tone, seem to hold tuning well and make me happy that I seem to have made the right choice.I would have no hesitation in buying the same make and gauges again.

From a novice perspective, and I am definitely a novice on the lap steel, these strings sound just great to me. They have a nice resonance and the slide moves around on them with ease. The tone is deep and quite earthy, not particularly "bright" (although they are not lacking in treble they don't sound overly trebly as some new strings can, which I don't really like) Bought these for my Harley Benton lap steel and they suit it perfectly well and were easy to fit. I'm not experienced with more expensive strings but from a sonic point of view and with knowing how a lap steel "should" sound (as opposed to how it sounds when I attempt to play it) I would say these strings are a very worthwhile investment. I'm not sure on the longevity of the strings as yet but I'd...
