Pas mon truc !

Même si on est sur des cordes connues et reconnues, je n'aime pas le touché, très "râpeux" et le son très agressif. L'enroulement me paraît irrégulier aussi. Je ne suis pas fan des stainless, ça ne doit pas aider.

Sublime

Much clarity and deep subs. Tension is medium. It takes really less effort when slapping and plucking.

Outstanding

As advertised, excellent tone and durability... these strings don't lose their tone as rapidly as other "big" makes than I will not mention here

Not Bad

I have been a fan of using elixirs for years but decided to try these as an alternative to see what else was out there. At the start I was impressed really clear sound. I found they worked well for various different styles including slap and for tuning down to drop d which I do often. The one downside to them though was they seemed drop off after about 3-4 weeks of solid playing as elixirs last much longer

Absolute favourite roundwound bass strings

Best roundwound bass strings in my opinion. They have the growl and midrange complexity of the Rotos without the scratchiness. They also don't eat up the fingers like those do. Then you get the supple feel and bright chimy highs of brand new D'Addarios, only here it stays longer. In fact, these are - in my experience - longest lasting un-coated roundwounds. Of course your body chemistry and playing or hygiene habits may vary. I, however, never got so much mileage. Even when they die out a bit, the tuning stability and pitch clarity remain excellent, only the higher end get muffled, obviously. Can't recommend them enough. Compared with what I've used extensively in the past, in order of familiarity:

D'Addario XL

Rotosound 66

Dean Markley

Ernie Ball

DR

Hartke

etc

and then flats, tapewounds etc

The sound is very present! Very good sustain, but if you are hard handed, you could eat trough the frets in fairly short amount of time. Choose them if you other basses that you play with, and these ones are on your 10 gigs a year, bass.

Crisp, bright, full sound

Sounds lovely paired with my Jazz 60s reissue with maple neck, crisp treble, full high mids but a low and full bass response. Perfect especially for funk but also for other RnB, rock, alternative. I've found a perfect match.

Dunlop being Dunlop

Although I preffer some other set of strings I decided to try them out since I'm a big fan of Marcus Miller.

They are very well made, the packaging is slick and nothing flashy, but the sound... oh the sound. That bright zingyness that is evoked when slapping is just incredible. Combine that with an active jazz bass and you've got a funk monster!

All in all I would recommend these strings a lot!
