Bad stone good shifting vibes

Exactly the sound I was looking for

Not much to say about this really. It does exactly what I bought it for. Good quality, good price.

Must have!

Where has this pedal been all my life? It’s the most perfect phaser ever!

Vocoder heaven

Synth nerds: this is the pedal you need if you wanna get that particular 70s vocoder sound out of the VC340. Great for guitar stuff too.

Some settings can cause it to distort unpleasantly, but this might be a combination of a hot signal and overlapping filter bands - I mainly notice this when tweaking it in manual mode.

great vintage sounding phaser

This is a great sounding phaser. It can go from very subtle to absolutely crazy phasing (almost ring modulation). The sound is warm and rich and it beautifully colors your sound either with clean or distorted sound. Really like it.

The only drawback in my opinion is the manual shift knob. It does nothing when the switch is engaged in auto mode. In manual mode you can lock the pedal to a specific tone (kind of leaving a wah pedal to a specific position), but of course there is no phasing effect. So, it is a bit of useless feature to me. Maybe a volume knob would have been more useful.

Pros: awesome phasing sound, very versatile

Cons: manual mode is limiting the versatility of this amazing phaser

Great bang for the buck!

I was looking for a phaser to complete my pedalboard and pretty much everyone recommended the iconic MXR Phase 90. I was about to buy that until I had the chance to compare it with the Bad Stone. The versatility of the latter is way beyond what the P90 can offer and you can get a ton of tones and effects with EHX's pedal. The Auto/Manual switch works well and the Rate knob provides a wide range of effects. Crank it up and you get some weird sounds you can't have with the Phase 90. So you get all those extra effects and versatility for about half the price compared to the Phase 90. You can't get a better deal than this! As with each EHX pedal, it's really sold and takes a lot of abuse.

Solid purchase

Quite a simple pedal on the surface, but a surprising amount of sounds are available once you mess around with it. Especially with the addition of a manual switch and control knob, which is a welcome bonus for a pedal at this price.

Needless to say, the pedal is built like a tank, as all EHX pedals are. It was delivered in four working days (to the UK), as no complaints in any way.
