As good as a space echo

Side by side comparison with a genuine Re-150 is striking: the sound of this pedal is really good, analog and warm. Thanks EHX

my favourite pedal

warm, gorgeous analog delay with modulation, with expression pedal can unlock even more possibilities.

Dark and noisy

I play in a post-rock band: think long chords, lots of reverb and delay - soundscapes. I bough this hoping to replace my Memory Man (which needs 24V). It's not a bad pedal by any mean, but it's just dark, much darker than the Memory Man. The repeats are also kind of noisy. As such it's a good effect to be "below" the rest, i wouldn't use it to let the repeats be heard on their own. The features are lovely, but ultimately useless to the way i ended up using it: tap tempo and subdivs are more important when the repeats need to be clearly in time and audible - which is not what this pedal excels at, in my opinion.

Same as memory man

Have sold it. It is very noisy and dark.

Great quality at a great price

This pedal has some very great features which can take it from a really nice musical delay to a choir of broken robots. The FX loop is a really cool feature which I can see myself having some fun with in the future. All in all amazing, buy one.

Great bitbucket

This delay is just great. I love the lofi undetailed repeats a lot. The fx send is really awesome as well.

If you look for a dirty delay this is a good choice,

I adore this pedal

I love this delay, an Analog delay with tap, and modulation, and control over that modulation, you already have my attention !!!

On top of that there is an expression pedal input (i have not used) and an fx loop that only affects the tails (again i have not used but may be changing that soon) All for a very sensible price.

To be honest i bought a memory toy , the nano analog EHX delay(a great budget delay option if you want one trick pony analog delay), fell in love with the mod setting , so much so, i bought another the next month.

So when I noticed this version with tap i instantly knew i would buy it, and it did not dissapoint. I can get the same tone from the memory toy on the Memory boy deluxe, but i have more control over the volume (the mem toy has volume issues occasionally) , more control over the mod so i have tweaked it to taste (it is capabale of some truly insane mods on the tails, i keep it set very subtle) the tone of the delay tail is dark, and the Tap function just seals it

I adore this pedal, as long as this functions i will have it on my main board,i dont need any other pedal it does EXACTLY what i need, and i cant wait to start playing around with the fx loop tails , might add a shimmer there

could be built a little better but no major issues, sound wise and options its top (but for analog sounds with or with out mod only) Size is fine given how much i love it

Gorgeous delay pedal for its money. Organic full sound, great implementation of subdivisions and sturdy construction.

Deluxe delay!

During the years I have tried many guitar delays but this is the one that gives me what I need - excellent sound, very easy handling, built to last and enough features to get me closer my sweet tone:)

Only remark is that it is actually almost twice the size of a standard stomp box.

awesome sound - awesome features ... too much features even to be precise ..would consider normal memory boy = D just equal sounding to the carbon copy in my opinion and better priced !

Sounded dull and not as good as delays I used before

Plenty good features - but sound lost all clarity by default.

Maybe it was something wrong with it, don't know.

I missed some tone control, it sounded like turning tone on guitar to 8 or something.

I sold it after a while.

Analog stays unbeaten !

First of all, I had hard times deciding between EH Memory Boy and Carbon Copy.

Finally I got Memory Boy Deluxe.

I'm not saying it's "better", but it definitely delivers what one may expect from analogue delay.

It is full of features I am still exploring, but I can easily say that deep, kind of Gilmour-ish sound is something I've loved on the first sound.

Plugged through effect loop it sounds clean and nice, both with clean or distorted signal.

It's extremely flexible when it comes to control. Feature I like the most is that I am able to work with expression pedal on rate, delay, feedback, gain etc.

Of course, pedal itself is robust as rock, but this is true for all stuff from Electro Harmonix.

From subtle to CRAZY.

Looking especially for a pedal with tap tempo I decided on this. Loving the flexibility and sounds you can get out of this. Just be careful turning the knobs in "realtime". It has plenty of boost and repeats on tap and can really screw up your speakers, hehe.

Use with care and enjoy the array of tweakability with this pedal.

Great analogue delay

A dark sounding analogue delay with modulation, tap tempo, subdivisions and expression pedal control. Think of it like a Carbon Copy, except with more features (and for slightly less money). I found it easy to dial in some really nice sounds. Can do simple slap-back to long modulated delays that just sound lush. The modulation can get pretty wacky quickly - it'd be better if the wave control had a more usable sweep, but you can still get some usable settings. If you want a delay that has its own sound and don't need lots of presets I highly recommend this one.

great sounding analogue delay

using this with my new sub 37. adds subtle delays and mad modulations depending on the settings. like all anaolgue stuff it has a cut off in the very high frequencies which is what i'm after but if you want digital precision this may not be the effect box for you. well built though and feels like it'll last forever.

Deluxe Memory Boy

Fantastic pedal. Easy to use, durable and most importantly, it sounds amazing. Beautiful warm analog delay. I would recommend this product to everyone.

Excellent simply delay pedal

As a noob gear nut i decided to take the advice of my guitar teacher on what pedals i should buy for my first serious board. As a primarily acoustic player i wasnt looking for much, but had always been a fan of how far you can push the acoustic guitar via a simple delay, reverb, and volume pedal arrangement. My guitar teacher recommended this analogue delay from the boys at EHX and i couldnt be happier with my purchase. The pedal is easy to use and has an awesome vintage sound. Combine it with the EHX Cathedral and it opens up the possibilities massively. My only gripe with this pedal is that when you turn it off, it just turns off, no delay fade or anything. But analogue pedals are known for stuff like that so i can hardly whinge on about it. Overall i couldnt recommend this pedal enough for anyone whos looking to take their sound to the next level, but cant be bothered with all the super high tech gear stuff.

Great pedal, amazing features and quality for an affordable price!

This pedal is great! Amazing quality for a very affordable price. The tap divide sequence mode and choice between sine/square wave modulation are very cool features. And it's great to have an effects loop for the delay signal, I don't know of another pedal that does that!

I've been using this pedal for quite some time now, and it is so versatile! Once you get familiar with the controls, you'll see that a wide array of sounds and colours are possible. The sine wave modulation can give a very warm and lush sounding delay ideal for bulking up your sound or even giving a wash under your sound. The square wave modulation is CRAZY! It can be tuned to anything up to a 14th above and below your dry sound, which is quite remarkable. I mainly tune it to a 5th or an octave as these seem to be the most useful for creating sounds that won't conflict too much with the harmony of what you're playing.

I even managed to create a fake lo-fi sounding broken tape delay sound with this pedal, it blows my mind! If you want a nice warm analogue delay with some additional experimental features, this pedal is ideal for you!
