It's worth it

It's a very versatile pedal. No need to repeat the technical information. If you are looking to spread the sound range over a wide area, I think it is a tool that should definitely be on your pedalboard.

Classic Pedal

This pedal can be used in so many ways, the creativity is endless. The build and sound is top notch.

The pitch shifting is only 50% of this pedal, the attack, low pass filter and detune offer an array of sounds as well.

One of the best from EHX

Poggers

I looked at all the myriad octave pedals out there and popular opinion said this one was the best of the lot. What clinched it for me was that it has 8 memory slots to store your own presets. I really don't want to be bending down to fiddle with settings between songs, and 8 is more than enough.

Octaver: tracks excellently, copes with bends and chords and really anything you play

Modulation: adds a nice shimmer to give a very useable organ sound if you take off some of the dry attack

Boost: I can even use one preset just to boost the signal a little with no other effects. Saves having to try to remember to change volume or pickup on the guitar

Those people online telling me this was the best octaver? They were right. Thanks!

Headache remedy

Had POG1. I was pleased, but he gave me headaches over some little things. This one is a headache remedy.

Magic!

This pedal is nowadays a legend and many artists I admire already immortalized it. I needed an octave pedal and didn't want to mess it up so I researched a lot. After hearing and analyzing almost every pedal on the market, I hurt my brain a lot. Guess that's why this pedal is a no brainer. I was afraid of latency (because all digital octaves have it) I found out that even though this code has more than 10 years, it's still the best on the market. The sound is pure magic, but not for everyone I guess. The thing is the versatility, the creative ways you can use it. It's the most beautiful guitar pedal I've ever used and I'm very sensitive to latency, but the sound is just too good to be upset about it and you can just increase the dry output and mask it a little. What a pedal, dear God!

Excellent!

POG2 is a well known, classic octave pedal. Is a massive machine that goes beyond the 2 octaves up and 2 octaves up. It also include attack control, low pass filter and detune.

The ammount of tones you can get out of it is countless.

Great pedal. Like the atack slider, just to give silky sound

Classic pedal that can inspire you on and on

Really, it is worth to spend many hours to explore the rules and possibilities of this pedal. Also it is good to think about POG not only in the terms of guitar pedal, but to consider it as an instrument itself. There are many settings which can change your guitar tone totally - and this change affects your playing a lot. Also it can be not quite easy when you start using POG. But it is really worth to learn how to use this box full of inspirations :)

Amazing octaver for organ-like sounds

Premise: I'm not one of these EH fanboy at all.

But this pedal attracted me for a long time, so in the end I bought it and now it's stably on my main board.

The building quality is awesome: never had any problems in many years of intensive usage.

For what concerning the sound, I was expecting something like the normal 3-knobs Pog that I've previously tried: forget about it.

The Pog2 sounds way better to me, not only because of more controls but even in simple "octaver" mode.

The pitch tracking is perfect even while playing chords in every part of the fretboard. Octaves sounds very "real", hot and smooth.

The attack/filter/detune part is where the magic happens: filter is astonishing and the attack control is really precise (thanks to the dry pot it can be used as a swell effect). Working with the Q button many true organ-like sounds can be obtained.

The general usage is really simple and self explanatory.

Personally I've never used the preset options, but if needed it's there.

Cons: Maybe the price is a little high? And an expression pedal would be useful.

Great octave pedal!

Looking for a poly-octave with tons of features? This pedal in a dream machine for anyone who loves to add sub and upper octaves to his sound on guitar or acctualy on any instrument. It is very responsive and tracks in real time. Also all the efects make it great for getting the best sound possible. the presets are great for storing any sound that you like (up to 8 presets).

pros:

- 2 sub octaves and 2 upper octaves

-dry signal fader

- additional attack, hi pass filter and detune filters

-presence knob

-8 presets

cons:

-quite big

-not the best faders

-quite pricy

Overall great pedal and would recommend it to anyone who really needs that many octaves. If not you can look for pitch fork or sub 'n' up from tc electronic.

2 years and It still amazes me

I'm still discovering fun stuff to do with it. This thing is a beast. EHX made something unique. Great quality for it's price and amazing look to the pedal.

Pretty intuitive. and 8 presets that just make you shuffle through all this insanity of a box.

GET IT NOW.

Unique

Much MUCH more that it seems. The octaves are only a small portion of what this baby can do.

I use the POG2 in the beginning of the chain, before the dirt in order to maximize sonic pleasure (my pleasure); lots of the presets i saved are mostly with de attack knob cranked, for looping and voicing purposes.

Also, depending on your amp/speaker, the octave(s) down can really (almost) sub for a missing or late bass player.

One of the best pedals i have in my board.

It's the POG 2!!

Great pedal, does what it should and then a lot more... the right side of the pedal is a world on it's own, this is a pedal that requires a long sit to be able to squeeze all it's sonic possibilities.... Amazing pedal, works with guitar and bass...

Best Octave Pedal

The Electro Harmonix POG2 is a great ocatve pedal.

Great tones and a huge range of frequencies. I have it almost two years and still finding new combinations to create mad unique sounds. It seems potentially endless by itself before even using it in an effects chain.

Anything that can make an Irish tenor banjo sound like a rock organ is a special product in my opinion.

The sound quality is astonishing right from the sub bass to the higher pitches. It extends your tonal palette so much it can be an overwhelming experience.

It's on the larger side which is my only negative thing to say.

Fantastic Pedal

This has been a great addition to my pedalboard. I was initially looking at the B9/C9 organ simulator. But then I thought that whilst the occasional organ sim would be good, a full blown multiorgan pedal was OTT. So I took a gamble on this because of its ability to synthesise an organ sound with the filters. Works brilliant, I also like to create the "hammond" sound but also add the original guitar and slow attack on the organ so that it builds up behind the guitar sustained note. The big attraction of this pedal is that of the 8 memory slots. I play in classic-rock/blues in a guitar /bass/drums band and I basically use in a set, 4 sounds, ...1. Pure organ 2. Direct guitar with slow attack organ 3. 12 string effect, 4. chorus. Brilliant, economises on pedalboard space, its easily programmed, and the footswitch allows you to change effect by foot, or true bypass. My pedalboard is simple ...Morley miniwah, BB+ drive, POG2, delay & tuner. Gives me a real palette of sounds.

POG2 AMAZING

The Electro Harmonix POG2 is the best octaver pedal on the market. If you're a guitarist like me who is looking for the White Stripes/Black Keys sounding guitar, this is the pedal for you. I was stuck for a while between this and the Whammy 5 but ultimately decided on this due to the presets available and the better tracking!

It took me a while to decide as most of the demo's on the internet demo the great organ sounds and string tones that you can get from this pedal. But let me you: this pedal is AMAZING for riffs, chords everything! Throw an overdrive or a fuzz on top of it and the sound is perfection!

Perhaps a small bit over-priced, I would say ?199 is plenty for this pedal but it is certainly worth it and I would recommend every time!

Perfect oktevider

Although the promotional video displayed as a "organ effects for guitar players, so it works great for me as a trumpeter. Different variants / mixers of 1 octave / 2 octaves down and an octave / 2 octaves up mixed with the direct signal and the filter section makes it a very good octave stom box. Since it is very good that it has presets so you do not have to crawl on the floor to change the sound. it is quiet and works really well in all the different contexts I work as a professional trumpet player. Vsisst. it is a little bigger / wider than most dist. stomp box, but it is really worth the few extra centimeters. A professional stomp box in my professional reality.
