Elixir Nanoweb Light-Heavy 5-stars Reviews
Simply the best
I've been using a lot of different strings in the past but Nanowebs win in all categories. If you are annoyed by frequent string replacement, look no further. They seem to last forever (only Dean Markley Blue Steel might be compared) and sound really good. Not too bright and pretty much balanced. Thanks to them coating, no rust or dirt is kept on them. The only cons might be that the coating is getting damaged by hard picking. So probably shredders will look for something else? Definitely These strings are exactly what I am expecting from good product.
Great with drop-C tuning
This strings works very well for me in drop-C tuning. And they are extremle durability. The only thing i noticed is that the strings sounds a little muffled in high-end.
Pros:
1. Sounds great even if you play on a guitar up to 2-3 months
2. Nice feeling on touch
Cons:
1. It sounds a little muffled in high frequencies
2. Expensive
Top quality strings.
Great feel and long lasting. One of the best on the market..
10/10
Been using these for a few years now. i keep coming back to them. amazing string life and sound
Elixir Nanoweb Light-Heavy
I use these strings on every electric guitar I play. They last longer than pretty much every other brand I've tried.
My hands don't sweat much but even friends that have this problem assure that there's a noticeable difference in how long the strings maintain a fresh tone before going dull with time.
A little more expensive than the usual, but worth every extra penny.
This set is also really nice since it gives you more low end due to the heavier strings but it doesn't compromise easy bending since the lighter string is still a 010. Perfect balance between all features for me!
Perfect strings
These strings are amazing. I used the regular 0.10 to 0.46 gauge before and I wanted more bottom end so I purchased these. They are great. They feel really good and smooth under fingers, plus you get that extra meat on the low E. Also, they last much longer than other brands. I'm never going back to other strings. I highly recommend this product. The only con would be the price but as they last longer it's not really an issue.
Elixir Nanoweb Light-Heavy
Bought this set for my LP Traditional.
Here is the deal guys with sweaty hands.
Most of us like the good quality strings for our guitars but if your hands sweat, the srtings dont last more then a week, end of story.
Elixir makes a good quality string with less compromise on the tone.
The Good
Nice feel for 2 months maybe more. I hear stories people use them for a year and they are still good.
They dont lose the tone for long time
You dont have to clean them every time you play.
The Bad?
Price is a bit higher (but they last more)
Tone is a bit more dull (for some)
For me is an exellent choice and i dont have to change black oxidized strings so often.
Cheers!
My strings
Great strings for lower guitar tuning. Reliable and nice sounding strings.
Great strings
These last for ages and so represent a bargain even at the higher than average cost.
Nice and bright but they stay that way too.
Pay to win :)
I am using this set on Jackson Sl2h. And i very happy with theese strings. They are looklike expensive but, they are not bcs of their durability.. Love the tone of Elixir and they have much longer life then others.. So just buy and try it. You will love it.
Great sound overall. It's been on my guitar for ages and still delivers the best sound out of my guitar. The coat really does last 3x-5x longer. I'm using it on my Squier Strat and it played better before.
Great strings!
Crystal clean bright tone. Long life. Seriously, these are the best strings ever. Highly recommended!
Best strings in the universe.
I firmly believe that elixirs are the best, at least for me, they are fresh and sound is pefrect for 5-6 shows. What ever gauge i use, elixir has proven to be the best. Especialy if you sweat a lot or play in bars where you might get spilled a bit. I recommend.
Very nice sounding strings
I was hesitant to try Elixirs for the longest time, mostly because my main guitar is a 7-string and I like 9s (Elixir doesn't make that). These are on a LTD M-1000 in Open C tuning. My biggest concern was the sound. Big relief, they sound soft, yet bell-like. I like them a lot for metal sounds and ambient. They do not slap well, if you're into slap guitar. Just FYI.
Awesome!
I decided these were the best solution for my oil finished Light Ash Stratocaster prototype and I was very pleased with the way they harmonized with the light body and Alnico 3 elements. Very powerful rhythm response and nice for soloing and chugging along with powerchords and bass lines.
I'm in heaven!
Strings that go forever!
Provided with an anti-rust coating they will look "fresh" much longer than normal strings.
Honest review from first-time ElixI r user
Having never purchased a set of Elixir strings before, I decided that it was time to see what all the fuss is about. Until now, I had always played D'addario strings and I loved them. I have to say though, that these strings are obviously superior. The feel of these strings straight out of the box was incredible. They didn't sound as bright as normal new stings either, which I loved.
I have now been playing these strings constantly for the past two weeks, and there has been no change in their excellent sound whatsoever. It looks like I will get at least another 4 weeks out of these strings, which is astounding. After having played these strings, buying other strings seems like a waste of money.
only one problem . . .
My only criticism of these strings is that they don't all seem to be the same size/thickness as each other. Some are definitely fatter than others, so they look a bit "unbalanced" when I put them on my guitar - couldn't they all be made to look the same?
High quality strings
The quality of the Elixir strings is just amazing, they last longer than any strings I've tried before. It's quite comfortable to play on them, never had a problem with bendings or something.
The Elixir give a you very clear and tight tone. To be honest, they are not the best sounding strings I have tried so far but the quality is worth it (at least for me)! And don't get me wrong, the the sound is good though!
I play the Elixir strings on my PRS SE Tremonti which is tuned to Eb. Sometimes I drop the low string to C#, but I wouldn't go any lower with the light-heavy.
A great choice for allergics, cheapskates and everyone at all
Being (most likely) allergic to nickel I've found myself wondering about which kind of strings I could use without ending up with itching and dried out fingers. The answer to that certainly are Elixirs. It may be due to the coating, due to a smaller amount of nickel or both of it, but for me it seems to have helped switching strings from D'Addario EXLs to Elixir.
While not regretting to have played the guitar might be an amazing feature of Elixirs, what makes them outstanding (and worth the rather high price) is the durability and longevity. While Elixirs didn't seem to stay crystal clear at all time, they almost never seem to lose their treble completely and sound dull. At least you can have them strung up for half a year with medium amount of playing (some hours a week).
That said you might want to look out for another brand (for example D'addario EXLs) in case you are the kind of guitarist, that needs full treble at all times and thus needs to put on a new set every 2-6 weeks.
Downsides to Elixirs are the price (in last mentioned case only), that the strings will look quite torn after a while and that I found pickscrapes to sound less well.
So unless you're changing strings every other week or need chrome strings because you dislike treble, Elixirs may be just right for you.
(52-10 works perfect for 24,75" scale guitars tuned to D#Standard or D Standard)
