The best strings i've seen

Sweaty hands

I sweat a lot and any other string brand I've used is dead after 2-4 weeks of playing. Also, they sound amazing. I've experimented with several other brands, recorded the outcome, Elixir sounded and lasted the greatest.

Live long, sound good and squeak less

Haven't had a string break while playing ever with these (happened more than once with other brands, once on a three week old set during a live performance).

The tone is subject to taste but it is definetly my favorite.

The coating massively reduces fret shift squeaking.

If not for the current shortage I would never buy other brands again.

I have used these strings for a while and they feel good and lasts a very long time.

My go to for years

Elixirs stay feeling fine for months. The sound may change but the feeling doesn't really. If you're not actively gigging or can't afford to buy new Ernie Ball strings every week, these are incredible by comparison.

Long life, good price, nice sound.

Elixir, always!

Ok, they are a bit more expensive than other strings...but they will last a lot, a lot, a lot...longer! This is a no brainer for me. Smooth and good sounding strings that last a very long time...

Best one out there

After i got a pack of Elixirs i cant play with anything different.

Its not the sound, although there is no complaining on that part, lovely clear strings, but the cost factor.

These things are the only Strings that last for more than a week for me and thats all there is.

For reference i usually play about 2-3 hours a day, and my hands get slightly sweaty.

There is no competition for me and i tried all the big brand names, each and everyone was done after a week and for me there was nearly no sound difference between all the strings.

Excellent strings

I decided to test the strings out because they've been famously notorious for their "ease of play" because of the coating. They do play nice indeed, so for fast licks it's perfect! Also, they do not wear out (oxidise) that fast as other strings, so that's a great plus. The tone remains crisp for a longer time.

For me, I'm not sure if the coating really helps or not. I guess I'm just used to the standard strings without the coating so I'll try to go back to my Earnie Balls after those wear out, but it looks like it's going to take a while ;)

For the price and the quality, they are top strings that I would definitely recommend to everyone who plays fast licks and wants to try out something new.

Long lasting good value rock gauge guitar string

Bought this particular guitar strings gauge for a 24.3/4 hollowbody with paf humbuckers guitar, aiming to stoner rock music. Been a long time Elixir strings user. This newer formula with ultra thin coating and anti rust feels and sounds even more natural and classic as far as roundwound strings tones go.

This particular gauge let you maintain nice flexibility and crystal clear highs with the plain strings, while the wound strings give you thick rhythms and punchy power chords, being actually subtracted form a 12-52 gauge.

Seems resistent to corrosion just like it's supposed to be.

These Elixirs are your best bet as coated/anti just plain strings, in my opinion.

Lovely

Long lasting, great sound and optimum menoeuvrability.

I usually play in Drop C and Standard C, and 10-52 is my favourite size as it allows to have tight basses even with low tuning, but still holding a good tension for high speed rythms.

Perfect for D tuning.

I use this set for D standard tuning on an Ibanez RG560 (25.5'' scale).

In my opinion this set is perfect for D standard, the tension is even across all strings, and they feel good for both aggressive and soft picking.

Elixir are great strings for everyday use, such as practicing and jamming, because they will feel like they were installed a few days ago even if you played them for 3 months, but this also has some down sights:

-they will not vibrate loud and bright like uncoated strings do at the beginning

-they are around two times more expensive than regular strings

-if you're a metal player who does a lot of tremolo and down picking aggressively the coating may start to peel off

Very durable tone

Been using Elixir strings for years and they're the more consistent strings tonewise.

Wow these are awesome

I absolutely love these. I use these on my Les Paul. They are very easy to play with. They have little to none string noise while sliding. Sustain is great. Sounds very good. Durability is where it shines. I highly recommend these.

For the con, they are a bit pricey but worth every cent.
