fret problems

These strings have the property that they last a very long time, but over time the coating on the underside of the string comes off and then damages the frets, you quickly get dented frets.

Simply the best

There is nothing to add on. It's smooth as glass, sounds like your guitar should. It is not possible to write pros and cons for that becouse it's simply great, and you don't have to change them every few months, I change every 5-6 months, so it's life saver. Use it by your self for full experience.

Best Strings for sweaty hands

Since I sweat a lot, I find that other brands don't last very long (say, between 1-3 weeks before they're completely corroded) and these last a very long time and I don't find any significant tonal differences in comparison to other brands, at least enough to justify the cost and work to change the strings constantly.

Strings of a choice!

After some 20 plus years of using D'addario strings I wanted to try coated strings and ended up trying Elixir. D'addario strings usually lasted me about a month before starting to sound dull. With about 3 hours of playing time a day. I'm a shredder, so the strings take a lot of abuse.

Elixir gives me about three times that time. They stay nice and crisp for long, keep that metallic chime to them. Are less noisy when sliding ones fingers across the strings.

So for the past 10 plus years I've been using Elixir and never once regretted switching brands. Highly recommended.

Long lasting, great tone

I use these strings on a Telecaster, set with a slightly higher action to play jazz. While i have tried many different sizes and brands i have come to a conclusion. The Elixir Nanoweb Medium bring out a great tone along with a nice punch and mids. Usually you have to make a compromise, if you do not want to change your strings very often. But these strings manage to give both a great tone but also last long. In fact they last very long. I clean them after each time i play and they usually last 3-4 months. I am really satisfied with these that i wont ever need to look for any other set.

Highly recommended!

Good strings

I have been using these strings for the past 4 years, really great and clear tone, feels great playing them, does not leave an unpleasant odor on the fingers after playing, long lasting strings. Defintely worth the price.

They just never break!

I am not a crazy bending machine, but i do have a heavy touch. They never break, I only change them when they feel sloppy and start losing fibres

I repeat myself in all Elixir strings review: great brand; I've been using only Elixir strings in electric and acoustic guitars for more than 10 years. I vary sizes all the time, so I cannot say if the 11/49 is better than any other (that's more a question of personal taste). Great touch, very comfortable, sound great, last a long time.

Very good strings.

Very good tone, no problem if you have stainless steel frets on your guitar.

durable, sounds fresh for months

these strings are magical, silky smooth, easy playing, and the sound stays fresh for months on end.

The legend!!

I'm not a huge fan of elixir.. it's not smooth to play and the sounding is cold. I prefer the new model.. much better feel, but its nice to dont have to think about replacing strings for the next 6 months. Give a try to elixir.. but pay attention if it stays in tune all long the neck after 3 months, even without oxidation ;)

The best coated strings

Elixir make the best coated strings, period. With that said, you do need to keep in mind that you're sacrificing a bit of the regular string "feel" for durability. These strings don't rust and maintain their slickness and fairly fresh sound for a way longer period of time than a normal set.

Sound wise, they don't sound as sparkly as a fresh pair of strings, I'd say they sound more like a 3-4 days old set, but they keep that sound for months, so they're perfect especially if you have a floating trem equipped guitar.

I use this set on an Epiphone Explorer in E standard, I prefer high string tension and this set does the job.

very balanced sound that lasts

Feeling of a coated string though. If you like it - go for it.

On for More than Year

I put these strings on more than a year ago and I still don't feel the need to change them. They have been gigged may times but I haven't noticed any deterioration of sound quality. I expect I'll only need to replace any of them when they break.

In my opinion, still the best coated strings

I'm using Elixir strings since 2010, and I've never looked back. If you plan to keep strings longer than usual, have acidic hands or are just trying new strings, these will amaze you. Also, they just do sound great. I prefer them to many other brands of non-coated strings. If you want a good, full roundwound tone which is not too harsh at the beginning, but that still retains clarity and definitely enough twang, these will deliver
