Eminence Delta-12A 8 Ohm

I used the Eminence for years, very solid and robust

but of late I switched to Fane and in many ways I found them better than Eminence in terms of sound.

Good solid workhorse

Bought to replace old speakers in a refurbished mid range PA cab. Performed flawlessly. No distortion, just a crisp clear sound, but only used in the 250Hz - 2.5kHz range so unable to comment on low or high end sound.

A good choice for cost-effective projects

For the price sounds really good and loud. Need to do some job with DSP or EQ to decrease peak at mid range frequencies. I used it in my cheap project for discos or parties. Used it with Delta 15LF and B&C DE10. Crossovers at 150Hz and 3kHz 24dB/oct.

Combined with Delta15LF it generates pretty impressive kick bass for it price.

What is thy bidding, my Eminence?

This is one great speaker I bought for a guitar amplifier, as something of an EV-style speaker on a budget. It has a pleasant midpeak, that's rounded and sweet and takes distortion like a champion. It sounds woodier and more complex than what EV is known to put out, but that really works to my advantage, I think.

I actually bought two of them and will try to replace the dustcap with something a bit harder for a more lifted high-end. And I really think this speaker deserves that, being so well concieved. It may be part of the simpler line of PA-speakers of Eminences, but it doesn't take away from its performance.

I would really go as far as to say it's every bit as good as the Weber California I had, but at a half the price. Very nice 'thud' to its tone. May lack a touch of finesse as is, but nothing a good compressor wouldn't fix.

Some details, like the protection for the magnet, seems a bit so-so in quality, but that's really a moot-point and should you not like the magnet protectors they are removable for a more natural look.
