great sounding speaker for heavy tones. little harsh at first as every new speaker but glorious as it breaks in.

I have used this speaker in a peavey vypyr and a randall rg 75 g3 and it vastly improved the tones from both these amps

Great sounding speaker.

Classic tone.

If your celestion 70/80 or blue marvel is too sharp sounding this is a great option. Mellow's out the highs nicely.

Great for classic rock and old style metal too.

Sweet full cleans.

Just perfect for taste

This is a very tasty speaker, with roaring mids and excellent voice in a band setting. Mutch better than a Celestion V30 I replaced it with, which sounded much more sterile.

It is also a perfect match with my Matchless Avenger 30 head, and it sounds also great with my Bugera V22.

The best speaker ever

I have been testing a lot of speakers from 30W to 150W Celestions and Eminences.

Some of them are too boomy, crispy, mudy etc.

The best speakers I have been using are

1. The Governor 75W

2. Legend 1218 150W

3. The Tonker 150W

Eminence The Governor

This speaker transformed the sound of a (budget) Fender Princeton 112 solid state when the original speaker died. Highly recommended as an upgrade. We are talking old school excellent clean sounds here. Look elsewhere for a grunge rating.

Celestion V30 alternative for less price

Starting at the end, I really love this speaker. I'm a big fan of Celestion V30s, and tried to find a cheaper alternative for a 2x12" project. Searched in different forums, I found several different reviews, and at the end I asked myself: hey, this is quite cheap, you don't lose too much if you try it. So I bought it. If I want to compare to V30, these are my findings:

- they are compatible in size and screw locations

- it has approx the same tight lows

- almost the same mids, by comparison I can state that the mids are not so aggressive, like the V30 has, a bit creamier, but they are cutting through

- more pleasant highs

Overall a bit creamier, almost the same character, and a bit more 3D sounding. I suggest to everyone!
