Power but muffled

The bite and power that comes out of this guy is amazing for a 10''. The housing constructions is very robust (and heavy).

Somehow, the tone is a bit muffled as if something was behind a pillow.

Perfect in a Princeton Reverb

I purchased this for my early 70s Princeton Reverb that still had the stock CTS speaker fitted.

I wanted to retain the "American sound" of the amp but wanted a bit more level (sensitivity) than the stock CTS.

The Copperhead does exactly that, louder, a bit more clean headroom, much better handling of low frequencies, a lot less heavy and yet retaining the high frequencies that Fenders are know for.

I've owned a number of 70s Fender amps and have gone through many different speakers (multiple Webers, multiple WGS, multiple Eminence) but this is the first speaker that has ticked all the boxes so to speak.

Would recommend without hesitation for any Princeton Reverb (original or reissue) users who aren't happy with their tone.
