Better than expected
I use QLC plus for lighting control on a basic desktop machine with minimal Ubuntu installed. I had problems with flickering lights with Enttec open interfaces and decided to upgrade to this. It solved my problems, and contrary to the instructions no additional drivers had to be installed in the Ubuntu machine. I also ran it without problem on a Mac with an M1 processor.
The only issues I had were with the manufacturers instructions. To check or update the firmware and, if necessary reset it, you need additional software, which it turns out has to be EMU light control software. There is a free version of this, but finding it is not straightforward. The manufacturer does have good support, though, and did provide a link to me. You may wish to get over this hurdle before it arrives.
Works well
I bought this unit to replace another product that was causing occasional buffering issues on a Mac computer. No such issues here. Works exactly as needed. I would love if it would also do a merge function (i.e. DMX in is merged with DMX out) but otherwise it is great.
ENTTEC Make the best USB to DMX adaptors for QLC+
If you're using QLC+ or other free software it'd be silly to get anything else. I've tried some of the other brands (uDMX) and they didn't come close to the quality that I need to run light shows reliably. The ENTTEC devices always work plug-and-play with QLC+ and I've sent them all over the world on gigs.
Great
Does the job. Reliable, compact and simple.
Power-full device
Works super well with Touchdesigner !
NO LAG !!!
Since a bit, the box is made out of plastic, before this product use to be made out of a strong metallic case, this is a bit disappointing since the plastic doesn't sound very solid.
Good interface but not as good as it used to be
Be careful: the photos shown are not correct anymore
Pros:
* Reliable
* Works with a lot of software
Cons:
* Very expensive price
* Used to be in a metal enclosure, which justified a part of the price, but on the latest versions, it's now cheap plastic!
I would still recommend it for its functionalities but Entecc is clearly trying to cheap out on their product, using their settled good reputation to sell those...
Extremely stable
One of the best device for control light from pc. I use device more than 1 year and i am happy all time when use Enttec DMX USB Pro Interface
Very good product .
Tiny and undestructable interface perfect for a pc software
Extremely stable and easy to use
We've used a lot of these at work for controlling lighting in museum exhibits. Except for a couple of unplug/replugs now and then, they've been extremely reliable. We're talking years of continuous operation, and it could be well enough the OS's fault and not the hardware. The device itself is very easy to set up, which leaves the work where it should be - programming the lights.
For small party used with QLC+ (4 fast moving heads + 1 hazer) works perfectly, no lags noticed, no dmx network issues
The best investment we've ever made
Background of me - no technical knowledge, and I hired a technician who was learning on the job with me
Outcome - pure bliss! - this product has given us so much flexibility when touring to all our different theatre venues. We hook it up with QLab 4 (which it is compatible with - others are not) and it has been great! Not had a single issue yet - A great investment that we can use time and time again for a load of venues and we don't need to take with us a board anymore we just plug it into our MacBook and away we go. Really user-friendly as it doesn't overcomplicate what it needs to do! I believe it covers up to one universe so if you need more get the MK2 possibly but for us this did everything we needed.
Perfect
After around 40 gigs with it as a mobile DJ, it has worked flawlessly to me. I've been using it with the free software QLC+, very intuitive, and the interface is sturdy enough. I've been transporting it in a shure micbag (interface, usb cable + 5pin to 3pin adaptor).
Works well
Used this for lighting for our church. Used with Lightkey for Mac software. Had an issue with serial port and usb settings not recognising the entice device and solved by the following post:

Otherwise, very good device where sometimes the show freezes while the device hangs on a MacBook Air
works by design
Was a step switch from "manual" style dmx to software based. This unit has worked flawless and was a breeze to setup and works with "everything"
Simple solution for DMX networking
Note: this is a 5-pin! I have to explain how I use this and why it's so crucial for my light show. Here's my chain on stage: iPad (with OnSong) > Apple Airport Express (for local network) > Enttec DMX converter > ADJ WiFly EXR Battery (in rack as transmitter) > ADJ WiFly EXR Battery (on light bar as receiver). So all the lights are scripted through OnSong which talks to the Enttec USB to DMX converter through the Airport router. If you are using DMX control with a computer or router then you need this. Its a solid metal box, built to last. Groovy.
Great product.
I use this interface with QLab to control lights, smoke, etc from DMX without a light board directly from a Mac and it just works perfectly, no latency or problems noticed.
Versatile
Works flawlessly on any PC i've tried it, drivers are set automaticaly. The only thing you mostly need is 5 to 3pin xlr adapter or cable, this is maybe a little troubling. I'm using it with Martin M-PC software, without any problems whatsoever.
It Works for Pangolin
It works for my Quicksilver software, got all my lights now working with the timeline so very happy..
Great piece
Woww.. Amazing stuff.
Running perfectly with martin mpc
