Nice strings

I like lower tunings but i like to retain slinky feeling top strings while the lower strings are tighter. This lets me do exactly that at #C standard on 25.5 in scale guitar. These strings can be used for longer scales too with similar results and even lower tunings. I usualy use 9-46 hybrids on 25.5 so this is essentially the same when tuned step and a half down. Great strings! I would buy again.

Proven quality

Benn favourite since years. delivers the tone range I dig (garage -punk-industrial-metal)

The best for that price

This specific "skinny top beefy bottom" (hmmm..) setup is only offered (afaik) by Ernie Ball.

They are cheap and yes, not as durable and clear sounding as D'Addario NYXL series, but they do the job quite well.

My string of choiche for D standard, drop C and drop B

I change things up and try out different brands, but for some reason I always come back to this. I love hybrid sets and Ernies sounds the more even between strings.

Great stuff

Beefy slinky have been my favorite strings for about 4 years now(my band plays in drop C#). The only problem I had with them is that they make playing solos with bends a bit difficult for me personally. This model is like the best of both worlds - as it was intended to be. Perfect for both heavy riffs and smooth effortless leads.

Perfect for bending in lower tunings

I use these strings on my drop-B tuned 25.5" scale length guitar. I do a lot of bending, and these strings seem perfect- they are soft enough for the deepest bends and hard enough for chuggs. I've tried some other Ernie Ball sets, but they didn't feel right for lower tunings, so I definitely recommend this for drop-B - IF you like to BEND.

Good strings for drop tuning to Drop D

The highers strings are standard gauge, when I tuned it to Drop C or B it was a bit flaccid. But these are Ernie Balls, of course they are very well made. Good for Drop D imo, maybe even Standard E if you are hardcore

Drop tuning monster

Child hood memories with SOAD, Rammstein, Machine head and other drop bands come to life with these ones. Drop C is holding just fine - haven't really tried lower.

Drop A on medium scale? This is your meds

Ordering this strings for my lil brother since he only have HB student series SG type, which is medium scale and custom gauge like this is really seldomly available on our local store.

This strings does help big time since at this time, my brother's composing their new songs which required Drop A tune and he refuses to use my baritone guitar since he wanted to use his own instrument, for his own accomplishment.

I can't say this strings durability is good for you or bla bla bla since every strings react differently to each person. My brother cannot use the cobalt one without corroding it after a week, but this one always last at least month before start to corrode.

If you want it clear sounding profile, then it is for you. I personally like this strings but cant stay long with me.Even pricy DR cant help me except D'addario..My advice, search for your right strings doesnt matter the price..This though I recommend it for starting point.

Ernie Ball never disappoint!

Was normally using Skinny Top Heavy Bottom sets, but i tune to drop C, so i often thought i could use a little bit more beef on the low strings. And here is Ernie Ball giving me exactly what i want as always! Great strings, with the quality Ernie Ball has gotten us used to! Can't go wrong!
