Good standard set of strings

I really like the sound of a new set of there strings and for that I consider this a good value for money.

However I wouldn't recomend these strings for 2 kinds of purposes: to use on a guitar for a long time or to stock large quantities for a long time. The reason being these strings age very rapidly. In a guitar you play 1 hour a day these strings will be wasted in less than 2 weeks. Stored in a dry place and the package completely closed the strings will age (even rust) in less than a 1 year.

Great value

I've never found better value strings than these! I keep several sets of these at all times for spares, etc.

For live use they will last well. You would probably only need to change them when they break.

However I regularly enough record at home, and these strings definitely sound their very best recording when brand new, so I change them all the time. For this reason the price makes all the difference! If you were a normal person and record all your parts in one or two sessions, then this probably won't be a major concern.

These get 4 stars from me as they are great versatile strings, but they lose their great recording tone quickly.

Working Strings

Strings are a very personal and subjective choice, but in over 30 years playing and sampling most major manufacturers strings from low end strings that break on first tune up, to the higher end claimed extended life versions I keep coming back to these. If cleaned after every use a reasonable life expectancy can be achieved.

Nice clear bright sound, and handles all the bending and sliding produced by any style of playing.

best quality retains tuning in most environments.

Rarely snapped for me.

When I was regularly gigging these were the strings I always used, simply because through a process of having tried many brands over the years, Ernie Balls just broke less often.

Every guitarist seems to be different though, so find your brand. These were mine.

My favourite strings

The Earnie Ball Regular Slinky are my favourite strings. They sound really brilliant and are a bit louder than Fender Strings. The only negative point is that the strings lose their great tone after a few weeks. If you don't change strings very often the Earnie Balls may be not your first choice. Since I change my strings every few weeks it is not a point that is concerning me.

Very good - but not the best :-)

I played them for years now. But there was always these times when I wanted to check out other strings. Perhaps it's because it got boring to play the same strings a long time?!

Nevertheless the quality and sound is good. Rarely strings snaped on my guitars. In live situations - very good! :-)

Overall - second best company for guitar strings (imho) ;)

My favourite: Dean Markley :-)

Been using for over 20 years

I am a long time user of these strings and have recently tried another brand just to see what the difference is.

That said, I have gigged all over the world with Ernie Ball's, recorded and strung just about every guitar I have (quite a few) and never been disappointed.

If you want a guaranteed result for your money...it is here with these.

The guitar strings work as you would imagine. They sound good and are slinky enough to bend notes. I prefer a less slinky style usually, but these weren't overtly slinky as some guitar strings can be.

Great sounding strings for a very reasonable price.

I've been using Ernie Balls electric guitar strings for many years by now and I can highly recommend them to any guitar player, despite guitar model or playing style. Considering the price they are long lasting and keep the sustain, especially if you take good care of them and wipe them after playing. Used countless packages and can't really complain about anything.

Good ol' strings

Slinkys are my go-to strings. Consistent quality

The original and the best

When I first started playing in a band, the lead guitarist, whom I greatly admired, would only use Ernie Ball Regular Slinkys. I figured that if they were good enough for him, then I needed to have them too. They're great workhorse strings, they feel good under the fingers, and remain bright for quite a while. I often use cheaper strings for practice, but would generally fit these strings for a gig.

Standard set of 10 gauge strings, good enough quality but don't hold their tone as long as others

Excellent tone, quality and price.

I have always found Ernie Ball to be of excellent quality when it comes to guitar strings. I had bee using Super Slinkys for a number of years but I found with my aggressive playing style that I was breaking strings too often. Regular Slinkys are just the right gauge for me to play heavy and bend easily and they sound fantastic. I use them on all my guitars.

My "Go To" strings

Have used these for years. They stay in tune, keep their tone and don't break. I find that, when they're ready to give up, it happens quickly, which is fine.
