Ernie Ball 2626 5-stars Reviews
Good set.
Decent string gauge. My guitar strings usually lasted very little until I found these ones.
My favourite heavy strings
I use these on my Jazzmaster as it's setup for downtuning/open tunings. I like these strings.
Nice strings
Over all just good strings with a bright sound
Best strings out there but..
These are the most balanced strings out there in terms of frequency range. Not overly bright but with fast attack and long lifespan. The only drawback of Ernie ball strings in general, is the lack of more variations on string gauges. With this set i always change the 24plain G string for a 20 just because anything above a 20 on a plain string sounds dead and unresponsive so basically i have to buy always an extra string.
Solid Strings
The reason to choose Ernie Balls is simple. Solid strings with a lovely twang. 3 weeks in and these strings still sound like new. Definitely reccomended
Excellent for drop B tuning
I've been experimenting with several products to find the perfect 56 string to play and even though I decided to stick with something else, this Ernie Ball set is excellent as far as sound goes, especially for 24.75-scale guitars. The only reason why I prefer a set from another brand is because it lasts a bit longer, but otherwise, the Ernie Ball works well with anything from drop D to drop B, stay in tune, and remain tight and clear for a long time. If played on a daily basis, they can last a month before they fade. Otherwise, you can count on them for around two months. Given the low price, they're a steal.
Perfect Strings for low tunings.
I have been using these Strings for at least 5 years now and they are still my favorite by far. They stay in tune perfectly and sound great and chunky on my 24,75" scale guitars.
Low tunings, drop c and drop b in my case, stay tight and clear, not sloppy at all.
They last pretty long without corroding or losing clarity, at least a month or two if not played to death daily.
There's really nothing not to like about these Strings and the price is pretty competitive among its competitors.
A great sounding and long lasting set of Strings for low tunings!
Very good for such a price.
Sometimes I really need Cobalts from Ernie Ball. But most of the times, regular Not Even Slinkies do the work, and they are half the price. I also noticed they keep their optimal sound around a week more, so I prefer them when I'm rehearsing day after day for a long time.
Ernie Ball 2626
I bought these strings for our rythm guitarist of our band. We do AC/DC-ish kinda music so our rythm guitarist tries to get that Malcolm Young Vibe. So he bought a nice Gretsch Guitar with Filtertrons and cranks the clean section of his tube amp. But one thing was missing. And we found it with the strings! If you want to get the real Malcolm Sound, you have to hit the strings pretty hard. If you don't want to change your strings after every rehearsal, you have to buy really heavy strings. So we tried out different companys and the good old Ernie Ball strings are doing a perfect job. They last long and sound extremely tight, which is an important aspect.
Great strings.
I use these strings on a guitar tuned down to C. I have tried many different makes of strings over the last 20years playing in metal bands and these are now my first choice for playing live and recording. To some them up in one word I would say "slick"
Filth
I took a risk on these strings as they have been utilised on my 'electracoustic' Fender Telecoustic, therefore technically completely inappropriate. Fortunately my gamble paid off and it sounds very unique! As far as the strings on their own merit are concerned, they are just as high quality as many other Ernie Ball sets I have had over the years.
Great strings!
I have used these strings for a long time. Because they are cheap, and sound great.
I put these strings on my guitars that use C standard tuning and below, and for that, they are really good.
Not much more to say about them :-)
To Surf or Not To Surf ?
That is the question, and the answer is these strings. what a fantastic surf sound can be made with these. By the way do you de-tune ? these are the ones for that.
Best for extreme metal!
I've tried many different strings, but now I just use Ernie Ball 2626 on my BC Rich Warlock and Ibanez RGT42 on a C tuning. They feel good and have a great sound. Definitely recommend to all metal players.
