Simply the best strings

Ernie Ball strings are just it. I use them on my guitar (paradigms for my Jazzmasters) and on my basses.

They feel smooth for my fretting fingers, and they sound amazing with a pick. Which is how I mainly play.

For fingerstyle and slap they also work very well!

A staple for sure

I come by these strings quite often and they've yet to disappoint me.

The feel of the strings is very nice and doesn't really budge anywhere. I actually bought a +5 size of these and think that the sound is a little more fuller, especially towards to lows, what I find quite nice.

Same goes for the sound, depending on playstyle (pick, finger, slap, thumb), it doesn't change too much and mostly stays in the broad middle.

Nothing too fancy, but that's why I like them.

Eat that, Duane Eddy

Having worn down the fret-sides of my beloved Lemmy signature strings over the past 6 years, I thought I'd try these Ernies. Ok, so any new set is going to sound a bit tangy after so long, but the first few hours with these has been worth it. They have settled down and the sound is now bright and punchy, with good bottom end and no sloppiness at D-G-C-F tuning. They're quite easy on the fingers, too. I hope they're still around in another 6 years time.

Nothing Else Will Do.

Been playing bass for over 30 years now and in that time I have occasionally tried a few other brands. While some were not overly disappointing, I still found myself going back to the Ernie Ball's.

First off I believe strings are a personal preference thing on a tactile level and can also drastically change the sound of your guitar.

For me the strings work on both levels, feeling smooth and comfortable to play with a fast response. New strings always sound too "jangly" for the first few hours, but after the EB's settle in they give a rich full thick full bodied sound through the right amp. I predominantly play a Precision Bass through Marshall amps and would use no other strings on it.

With Ernie Ball, the bass string prices are a little strong but quality and reliability have never been an issue. At times I have left these strings on a bass for several years and they continued to sound shockingly good.

The only way I think they could possibly be improved was if they came with silks on the ends to protect the tuners a bit, but this really is a minor detail.

All said and done, in my opinion they are the best out there and so long as they don't change, I will continue to use them in all my bass work.

Reliable, well built and great sounding strings

These strings are my go-to strings that I use on all my basses, they give the most solid sound for almost all types of music and when playing with a plec.

As with all Ernie Ball strings they are second-to-none for built quality and love the packaging and for this reason I have trust in them. They also last very long without losing that new string tone.

I will 100% be buying again.

Consistently good bass strings

I have been using slinkys for a number of years now on a semi-pro basis. I have never had a bad experience with them.

Packaging is always intact on delivery, the strings themselves are fairly bright and zingy to start with, but they soon mellow and keep a good tone for many, many hours playing before finally dropping off. The feel is good, not too slick, but definitely not as rough as some roundwound brands (Rotosound, I'm looking at you!)

Tuning stability is superb if you stretch the strings and bend them properly over the saddles when fitting. In fact, I only have to retune for the first hour of playing fresh strings, after which they'll stay stable gig after gig, night after night...even when using a de-tuner.

This gauge is particularly good for those basses which have weaker output on the d and g strings, or for players who want a higher tension on the upper strings.

Strings always go dead too soon, whatever the brand. I find the price and quality of slinkys is hard to beat when changing them about once a month.
