Great Clarity

I bought this for a small PA which I use for live music and also for home theatre. I use a 12" 18 sound sub woofer and two 8" satellite speakers. It is important for me to have clear mids and tops for vocal harmonies and acoustic guitar. These speakers have excellent clarity and are nicely balanced across the frequency range. I use them with a pair of Eminence HF drivers crossed over at 3,5KHz and the sound is smooth. Recorded music is played back accurately with no harsh mids.

Cons: The speaker arrived in an Eminence box with nothing on it that says EV. Once it's in the cabinet that doesn't matter because it sounds so good.

I'm buying another one to replace the 8"-225 watt speaker in the other cab which is not as natural sounding as the EV.

The EV 8L Driver is a perfect replacement driver for the EV ZXA1 or ZX1 - smiple to replace take off the grill undo the bolts holding the old driver and the new one fits in fine 10 minute job........
