Quality Through and Through

EV are a staple in the music industry for a reason - they are tough, reliable, multifunctional and sound great!

Use 2 of these for my gigs and they have never let me down

Great value passive speakers

My first passive speakers purchased so far to use on gigs where active versions not appropriate due to lack of power sockets nearby. These speakers have been used as PA and also monitors.

Only issue has been that wooden casing gets chipped regularly but does not impact on performance - just a lick of black paint from time to time

Lightweight, great for monitors

We had to replace monitors in a club where I work so needed passive 12's with good clarity and enough bass for monitors. They sound very nice as standalone and for all applications on monitors but bass players (they i believe would need a bit better bass response). I still think we will replace the rest of monitors to these. They do give good angle when setup in monitor position. So far none of players/signers complained about them. For the price i really like them.

Reach sound

Very reach sound, low frequency easily goes till 45-50. Gives a reach juicy sound. Installed 8 speakers in Restaurant-Bar area with 2 floors. SPL could be bit better, but apart from that, amazing speakers, wood old school case. Very satisfied with quality and sound

Warm sound (quite heavy to carry)

I gig solo (acoustic guitar/vocals) and a friend recommended these (over some plastic backed speakers) as the sound would be warmer and I am not disappointed. They have been transported in my car 2 to 3 times a week for two years, carted in and out of venues and they are really robust (if a little heavy). Would definitely recommend the quality, so much that if I add a little base bin in the future I think I will go EV again. Very happy. There aren't lots of fancy inputs or gimmicks just well built high quality speakers that I expect I'll be using for another 20 years.

Great sound

Great sounding speakers useful for both monitor and FOH applications not to heavy swell can lift 2 at a time.

Clean and pure sound

Amazing ratio between quality and price. Very clean and pure sound in such a small box. ?ypically for EV. Deeply recommending this boxes.

Great for Smaller Gigs and Floor Monitors.

I run a small PA Hire business and I've bought quite a few of these speakers. I use them predominantly as floor monitors but they're also great for front of house at smaller gigs.

They feel really sturdy but they're relatively light which is a big plus when you moving gear around all the time.

Gets the job done for a reasonable price.

EV Speakers

I'm maybe a bit unusual as I drive 4 Roland synths off my guitar so I needed a rig in stereo, I'm using 2 of the ELX 112's and 2 of the ELX 115's for stage use and I have to admit they blow away the competition.

Sound is, well perfect ( for me anyway ) not had a problem at all, after saying that I do use compressors to avoid any peaks getting through but they have proved to be most reliable.

Would recommend them every time, great bit of kit !

EV ELX 112

For the price, can't go wrong. Bought these for a set of monitors, but sound better than my main tops, so now use these instead. Good quality and feel lighter than most speakers of the same size. For £180 you'd struggle to find a speaker of the same brilliant sound.

Fantastic Speakers

I have now bought 4 ELX 112's to replace my old EV S200's. I am running these via an EV P1200 amp. I use these to do a Buble Tribute and a Blues Brothers Duo with audiences of up to 500 people and so far I have never had to push these anywhere near the limit. The sound quality is excellent and as Buble is all orchestra backing that is a must. More bass response than the old S200's but I still use a sub in larger venues. The finish on these is nice but nowhere near as robust as the old S200's so I would suggest covers or cases but other than than I can't recommend them highly enough.
