Ok, but not «good»:

I own a pair of Yamaha DSR112 speakers, and these EV-speakers sounds dull in comparison. They are less detailed (not precise frequencies), less detailed presence and less detailed bass. The bass sounds flat in a relatively bad way, like everything sounds the same (50hz rumble kind of bass).. still a deep sound, but not precise. You would obviousely need an 18" sub to reproduce good quality low frequencies.

And the amp is noisy, especially if speakerlevel is at top. Like unusable amount of noise. And these amp has no thermal plate/cooling help.

Not satisfied, but i ask for trouble paying so little - and still having high expectations. For the price i guess they are good. These are indeed very cheap. Kind of unfair to compare them with the DSR112, but thats what i have..

They can be used as floor-monitors, at least thats my plan. But i would actually rather buy another used pair of DSR112 for floor monitors.

Allright - if you plan to use these speakers as party-speakers, go for it!.. they sound good enough for that kind of thing.

but if you want to used them with a band - save your money and buy one «expensive» instead of two «half shitty»...

its a mistake to think that these will put out clear sound from both vocals, guitars, bass, keys and drums - its more like toys than tools. So im very very sorry to disapoint if you really considered buying them, or allready did.

Now to the positive stuff: for the price, you have a tool to do a job. Its better to have two monitors than NOT having two monitors. They are not useless.

Take care of your ears - i have tinnitus and you will too if you dont take care of your ears. Speaking of that, quality speakers play clearer at lower volumes. I ended up turning up the EV-speakers because they lacked details - and it obviousely did not help to turn them up.

Great sound and look speaker

It is made of wood and has a natural sound.

They are elegant design and geate sound, unfortunately they a have pronounced hiss and actual/real power it's around 250W at most.

Great all rounder

For the Price a great front of house speaker for pub bands, and fantastic as a monitor.

Powerful

Huge sound and volume out of such a portable speaker. Paired with a ZXA1 sub it's a very handy setup for small to medium venues. The usual EV clarity and quality also. Good versatility of inputs on the back.

Great sound, loud enough.

These speakers are great for small venues up to 60 people where you don't want to bring a subwoofer because the wooden cabinet sounds warm and has plenty of bass, specially for a 12" woofer.

These aren't very loud and they clip pretty easy after warming but for me it's loud enough. They don't have enough acoustic pressure like an RCF but it doesn't have to.

They are elegant and they make a good impression in design and sound, unfortunately they a have pronounced hiss and actual/real power it's around 250W at most, a Mackie SRM 450 V1 has 450W and compared you cand hear and feel the difference between the two of them, the Mackie it's more loud and peaks very hard. The SRM450 V1 it's more than 10 years old, and ELX112p now has about 7-8 years since launch, so they are not so far away.

I think I would not buy them again, the amp it's a bit of a joke unfortunately, but I don't regret buying them, they are my main gear and I use them almost every week-end sometimes paired with one or two subwoofers Alto TS212s.

Fabulous Sound

Having researched various Pa speakers and prices I eventually took a risk and bought these without testing them. These are not available to buy in Ireland, or at least near my County in Ireland anyway. I was playing in a band that used another brand of speaker, in fact most bands in Ireland use that other brand due to the limited choice here. I'm glad I took the risk, not only are they marginally cheaper, they sound just as good. We played a big venue recently and they carried all the way to the back of the room without sounding muddy. There was great separation in the sound. Part of this was due to the mix, but the speakers were fantastic. I use them with the relevant Bass bins also. I would highly recommend them. They also look great with the LED logo. It's worth getting the EV covers for them to protect the casing. My band will be doing a lot of travelling so for me it's worth the investment to get the covers.

Sound great

We now have 4 of these and are using them as wedge monitors. We started with just 2 as FOH tops along with ELX118p subs where they sounded great.

They sound very clear - a huge upgrade in clarity to the SX300s we used to have.

The only bad thing I have to say about them is that the bass driver is underpowered compared to the power amp.

If you look at the passive version of these they are rated for around 250 watts rms... these apparently have 1000w amps in them (more like 500 w rms maybe).

Anyhow whatever the number are, some inexperienced users at work have driven these bit hard and blown two bass drivers which we've had to have replaced.

Be careful with that LF eq control if you are thinking of using them without subs.

Speakers i can trust

Bought them 2 years ago.

Been doing DJ gigs every weekend up to 100+ people, sometimes with only one 15' sub.

So far never failed me and i would buy them again.

Only minor wish - they could have 2 handles, Other then that, perfect for me.
