Top quality sound

I’m a dj and I Have these a few months now and use them with elx 115. From the very moment I used them the sound quality is too class. For their size I imagined the were going to be very heavy but they’re not too bad but I put wheels on mine to make for easier transport in and out of venues. Top quality I couldn’t recommend enough.

I purchased these elx 118 about 12 months ago, and I use them for live band performance and band rehersals. Excelent sound, punchy bottom end. The units are quite bulky, but you would expect that being they are 18 inch drivers, not to heavy to handle on your own but far better with two people. Very pleased with them and would recomend them. The pros are sound quality and being able to handle them on your own, the cons are their size you would not be able to use them on a small stage area with the rest of the band gear set up, also need large storage area, I have to store them at home with the rest of my pa, and it takes up a considerable amount of room. Great bit of kit though and good value.

Good bin, but best for medium venues

Top build quality, good deep and clear bass, but I found that for my small pub five piece rock band, that these were a little too much, in terms of size and weight, to get in and out of small tight pub doors and crowds, and a little too deep and rich sound wise, they were over bearing on the sound even at low volume levels, (I should have used a little tone adjustment on them, but didn't, my bad).

Great cabs though, perfect for DJ's!, and gigging in nightclubs, also good for pub bands, but you really will need a way to adjust tone as well as volume, these can be overpowering to the mix, even at low volume without basic tone adjustment, apart from that?, great!.

EV ELX118

Just upgraded from a pair of 15" to these. First impressions, they look good, very compact for an 18 and not too heavy. Feel solid and well made.

Took them out on their first gig last night and was very impressed. Massive amount of clear, well defined bass. Not at all muddy or boomy.

Of all the passive 18s in this price range I've demoed, these blow the others out of the water. (and some much more expensive options as well)

If you are in the market for new subs these really do take some beating.

Ev ELX 118

Excellent all round subwoofer with plenty of bass to fill any room. It is fairly light weight for it's size and the handles on each side are a big advantage when lifting and transporting.
