Evans 13" Genera Dry Coated Snare

Evans 13

Based on 6 reviews

I´m really enthusiastic about his head This head is a real dry head, since it is called Genera dry it should be dry. The chart on the website is showing mostly the truth, in my Opinion. Lot´s of attack and not a short sustain. I don´t now for sure what he chart wants to show at tone: I think it´s bright or dark, (the more bars there are, the brighter s the sound), because my snare is now a little bit darker than before. I can not say anything about the Durability yet, but I think the head will go on for a long, time I feel it :)

Evans 13" Genera HD Coated Snare

I have a friend that had this head on his snare and I have to say it looked and sounded great with no sign of wear and tear after having it on a while, so I just had to get one. It has a nice mid tone sound that has a crack like a shotgun blast. I matched it with the Evans S13H30 Hazy 300, another great reso head. So it is very nice on the ears. The thing that I found with this head is that it is very easy to tune, it only took a few minutes to get the kind of sound I was looking for out of the drum. If you do not own this head yet and are in the market for one then seriously consider this Genera HD, you won't regret it.

Evans B13 STD 13" ST Dry Snare Head

Evans B13 STD 13

Based on 1 reviews

I got this snare head after wanting a change from my normal heads G2 & G12...and i have to say I am liking these much better. The sound is a nice dry pop, I like them tight..but I find you dont have to tune these up as high to get the same high pop that one might have to with the G2'S or 12's. If you like a bit of ring these have them too..but just the right amount I may add. I would not use any dampening on these heads just leave them nice and open and they sound superb. Would very much recommend these to anyone..ill be sticking with these on my snare for awhile now. and as far as i can see i dont have any bad points to mention about this head so thats a plus too.

Evans 13" Hybrid Snare Batter Coated

Evans 13

Based on 1 reviews

I like to play my snare with a lot of tension on the batter head. I was looking for a snappy high pitched sound that cuts through the mix, I use this head on a Tama John Blackwell 13" by 6,5" singature snare . This head can be tuned with extreme levels of tension giving a high pitch without any overtones or sustain. I do not use any dampening control for this head, no moongel, sound rings or any other dampening is needed for this head. Although very heavy and durable when tuned high this head is also very sensitive and gives you a great dynamic range, from the lightest of ghost notes to insanely load rim shots. I used this head for 7 months now, played in studio and several concerts with a heavy metal band, play it evey day in practice or rehearsal and it hasn't lost any of its...

Evans 13" Genera HDD Coated Snare

Evans 13

I use this head on my 13" solid maple Craviotto. Of course, I tried it with a coated Ambassador first but soon had to learn that the shell size in combination with the wood doesn't really work for me. The sustain was too long and it only sounded good when you really tuned it up. Since that's a very specific sound and not really what I want and because I heard good things, I decided on the Evans HDD. I couldn't be happier. It gives me the option to get a thick smack out of a smaller shell size. I don't know how I feel about the look of the air holes, but they appear to do their job. If you're in a similar situation as I was and you're not sure whether or not this will completely kill your tone - it doesn't. Occasionally I still throw my wallet on the drum for that very...

Aquarian 13" Hi-Energy Snare Head

Aquarian 13

Based on 6 reviews

This is my first experience of Aquarian heads. I usually use Evans. I am very happy with the sound. It's very well made and it looks great. There is a clear perimeter on the head which exposes the bearing edge of the shell which makes for a lovely tri-tone aesthetic. The centre dot is very tough too. I was renovating an old inexpensive kit and I matched this with a hi-Performance resonant head and I am delighted with the results. The snare sounds great now and I am starting to prefer it to my more expensive one. The snare sounds really full for a 13" and with some dampening can sound real fat too. Sonically, It works really well with my 13" Steves Doughnut. I am really happy with my purchase.

Remo 13" CS Coated Black Dot Snare

Remo 13

Based on 7 reviews

I have used Remo's Controlled Sound skins on my snare drums for 8 years, and they have never let me down. Compared to Ambassadors or other single-ply heads that tend to brake under rock 'n' roll wear and tear, the black reverse dot under the skin makes the head very long-lasting. I actually have never split a CS head. I have played a wide range of styles, from hard rock to soft pop, and the CS head has handled them all. The head delivers a very focused sound on the centre, thanks to the dot, but when you move towards the sides, the sound gets crispier and has more sustain and ringing. The head is a mixture of a single-ply and a two-ply head, so it is light enough for delicate playing, even brushes, but has enough weight to handle hard-hitting rock beats. I mainly use 13" snare...
