The EQ4 is the perfect Bass drum head for me
I use this as Reso Head and a clear EQ4 as Batter head with some some muffling touching only the batter head. This gives me the sound i have in my head from the kick drum . Lot of body and bottom end, clear attack without being to clicky and the right amount of sustain .It also gives lot of power to your kick drum without being too boomy.
Great batter head
Really punchy but warm sound from this head. I didn't get on with it at all when I first put it on the drum, but once I got the tuning right and played it for a while I totally rate it now. It doesn't sound like a PSIII from that other excellent head brand as many would expect from the roughly comparable model, but it has a character of its own that I prefer. Excellent quality from Evans as usual.
