Evans G2 Studio Set clear

Ordered these for re-heading my maple Yamaha custom kit for recording my progressive rock band for our new album, absolutely loving the tones, added 8" & 16" to make a five tom set up,fabulous in all tuning ranges, bright punch and great body.

Good value and tone

Bought the for a studio session.

The toms sound great with them. They are well built and excellent value. I like this ones over the coated ones better for studio work. They don't last as long, but I dig the tones better. They are less dull.

hell yeah

Great attack, beautiful sound with my maple kit, durable. I'm normally a Remo guy, but with those I'm really happy. Recommended

Great pack

I ve been playing Remo Emperors and Evans G2 heads for a long time and I must say that I like Evans G2 better. They last longer and have slite better tonal range . This pack is a great value pack and I will order more in the next few days.

Best all-around heads for modern tones

For any type of modern music where you want punchy tones, clear double-ply heads are a surefire choice. The G2s are a great choice for their high quality, tuning range, durability, and most importantly, sound.

This set of heads is extremely good value for its price. I have a drumkit with five toms and with this set I can save a significant amount of money and get a great sound for recording or live situations.

Personally, I don't hear much difference in tone or sustain between the different brands of heads, unlike like seemingly large portion of reviewers and commenters. For me, these are not dead or dull sounding heads by any means, and I suspect there is more psychology involved than actual differences in sound.

I've used these heads live and in the studio, always work, and I'm pretty sure I've never broken one. Make sure your drums are not angled too much towards you and you'll probably never break a head until it's been completely worn out. You might want to change heads before that anyway. After all, they're crucial in making your drums sound good. Even good drums sound bad with bad heads and vice versa.

Clear sound, great sustain, natural tone

G2's are my favourite. They give you the most natural drum sound, no oil dampening, no overtones (when properly tuned), right amount of sustain and sound control.

cons - little hard to tune on bad bearing edges.

Great for my needs

I need some attack and a warm sound. those can deliver. The touch and feel can be borderline "plasticky" but you get over it quickly. I playes nearly 75 gig without changing them. They are so robust and deliver every time. Very sonic, very vibrant and pure. Really what I need for the style I play. Evans delivers again !

Great sounding drum heads!

These drum heads are great if you're looking for a punchy, open tone. I've used these for rock, funk and jazz and they're incredibly versatile. These are my go to heads and I'd definitely recommend them!

Very good drum heads set

Use

I put drum heads on Tama rockstar toms: 10, 12, 14.

Very nice tone, keep in tune for a long time, very durable.

Clarity

After the drums head change sound of toms become more defined, clear and with full spectrum of frequences. Easy to install and to tune.

Stay tuned for a long time. After the drumhead change the difference was checked on recording.

pros:

Very nice to have all sizes of drum heads in one matched set.

Very good quality and packaging.

No cons.

I can advice these drumheads for drummers, who plays not very heavy type of music - jazz, blues, funk, soft rock.

The best live heads for toms...

Excellent, excellent, excellent. I think these heads are the best I've used for live playing (through a PA). Very nice tone, very easy to keep in tune, very durable.
