Great

Classic pad. Probably eternal. I have some stains on mine, which I don't know if I'll be able to remove, but maybe I shouldn't be spilling my drinks all over my pads. Don't stain yours and you'll have something perfect for the rest of your life. Enjoy!

No compeition

These are amazing.

I use the grey ('bouncy') side a lot and the black ('dead') side less. But you can't really beat Evans. Not the cheapest, but worth it. The are solid, well made and emulate a tight snare brilliantly.

Worth paying more for better feel

I used this pad as my first pad because of its price and it served me well. However, it is really just too bouncy and unrealistic to simulate a snare drum (even at the highest tuning). I would recommend maybe to beginners but overall I would recommend paying a bit extra for a more realistic pad.

Pretty loud

Pretty loud to play. Though, very comfortable surface. I like meinl one over it.

The best I have used so far

First of all the quality of this product is at par no doubt about it. It is also very comfortable to play especially the softer side. It really helped me improve speed on my left hand which was slower.

The hard side is good as well but I prefer the softer one as it feels very close to hitting on drums.

Evans Practise pad

I was glad I purchased this double sided Evans practise pad as the automatic bounce is similar to a tight snare and great I can practise my rudiments at home without disturbing anyone.

Unbreakable

Works great. Does not feel exactly like the real deal, but good enough.

Quality wise it will las a lifetime.

Excellent

As expected from Evans. Excellet practice pad. A bit heavy, but sturdy.

Very good practice pad

It's a very good pad, very responsive and big enough to practice for some time

Very Practical

Simple device that takes up little space, is sturdy and quite durable. A useful tool for home, in room practice and when you want to avoid excessive noise. Recommended.

This double side practice pad is heavy. So when you use it on a surface and not on a snare stand it does NOT bounce around. Also the soft surface is perfect to work with rebound techniques and it gives you a feel of very tight snare. The black hard surface has a lower rebound response. This makes is perfect for practising on your finger techniques with out depending on the rebound.

I live in an accommodation and i am able to play any time i want without disturbing my flatmates

Makes practice a pleasure

I was slightly sceptical about the pad after reading some reviews but I need not have worried.

The playing surfaces are great with each having a practical purpose. The gummy or softer side gives a good rebound which is less than a real drum but with the result that when going to the real drum strokes are easier than before.

The harder pad side is more of a workout and requires more effort to play but the results are worth it.

Unfortunately the wood or composite wood surround is quite rough to the touch but that doesn't detract from the units purpose.

HQ Percussion RF-12D

Very useful. Always in my backpack. Pretty heavy, which creates a feeling of indestructibility. I don't tune my snare drum ultra tight, so for me there is a little bit more bounce from pad's surface than i'd wish, however, it a good thing which does its job. My hands abilities now is far better than year ago.

A Beginner's Review

Great practice pad for a beginner. I bought it after my first drum lesson and found it useful when watching tv and I want to practice the basics i.e. holding the drumsticks correctly, hitting the pad dead-centre. I also use it to play around with drum beats I have in my head.

Good start while waiting to get my drum kit and stop being a beginner :-)

Enjoy!

Great product

I like this pad, I wouldn't go as far as saying it had a 'real feel' but that said it's pretty darn good. Perfect for working on new material, your chops and rudiments. Recommended!

Great experience!

I really enjoyed this one. It's just what I expected, to be honest. Super happy having this one. Nothing more to add.

Very highly regarded practice pad

This practice pad has 2 different surfaces that can be used. The grey side with the logo feels quite like a snare head - there is a good bit of rebound. The black side is very hard and there is very little rebound. The grey side is quite quiet, and it could probably be used even at night time without disturbing those in other rooms (depending on walls/insulation etc.). The hard black side makes a louder clacking sound, so it's not suitable for late night practice. The only fault I can find is that the wood on the edges is rough and unfinished, but it doesn't affect the functionality of the product at all. I've been using it for several months and there is very little wear, so it will probably last a lifetime!
