Eventide H9 Max Harmonizer
Effects Pedal for Electric Guitar and Electric Bass

Great FX
Great FX unit, sadly for some reason can't use it over bluetooth (app tries to "sync with device" and then hangs forever). But even without app and full control over parameters, I love this multi-fx unit.
A modern classic
This thing does all the Eventide effects, which are great. It isn't a very straightforward pedal, so if you just want to plug and play, this won't be your thing. If you're ready to explore what it can offer, however, it can be very rewarding.
Probably the best multi-fx pedal
The H9 has the unmatched quality of Eventide in a small box. The sound is amazing and there are enough algorithms to keep you busy exploring. I mainly use the space and delay algos in synths, but everything sounds really good.
The exclusive H9 algorithms are very interesting and they are updated once or twice a year, adding a new effect that is unique. Ultratap, Resonator and Spacetime are impressive and showcase the depth of this device.
The H9 Control app is really useful because the controls on the pedal are limited, but the MIDI control is fast and very responsive.
One of my best purchases ever
pedal to the metal
Perfect pedal. perfect effects. lovely toy
Awesome
Been using this for my synths and drums in ableton and I love it, the effects are awesome and it gives you many options to work with. The app which you can use it through is great, has a nice interface and makes it easier to use.
Amazing sound
I have replaced a bunch of my pedals with this unit. Like a lot guitarists these days I would rather have a small board when I am moving around a lot. This pedal can cover almost any sound and pedal function except for a decent overdrive sound. So I currently use only 2 overdrive pedals, the H9 and a delay pedal. I can get almost any sound I need. All of the algorithms sound exceptional and are highly tweakable with the app.
My initial gripe with this pedal is that you could only use one effect at a time. I like to use chorus delay and reverb together sometimes and thankfully the H9 has a ModEchoVerb patch that can do all three of these effects together at the same time. So I'm very happy with how it sounds. I have an extra delay pedal on my board for when I want to add delay to a tremolo or Leslie sound.
I'm a big fan of octave sounds, while this unit can't get to the same level as the Pog2, It can get quiet close. It can also do the Boss Oc2 sound pretty convincingly. I have been through quite a few autowah/envelope filter pedals too in my time, the H9 can emulate a lot of the popular Autowah sounds and do a few of its own original sounds too.
I use an external foot switch to bank up and down. It makes life easier and I don't have to bend over to change patches, I would see this as a necessary purchase if you are using it live.
Excellent
One of the best purchases I have ever made.
Fantastic multi-fx pedal
This product is simply amazing. It includes the widest ranges of effects available on the market, and overall the best algorithms out there. I was blown away by the sound quality and the amount of tweakability through the H9 Control app.
Pros
- Innovative design, clean interface
- Excellent build quality
- Top notch algorithms
- Super wide effect palette
Cons
- It has a center positive plug
- Only one effect can be used at a time (although many algorithms combine multiple effects)
Best pedal out there for wild and subtle sounds
Unless you?re buying a second H9, get the Max. You might never need all the algorithms, but you?ll never regret having them to try. It?s hard to find anything bad to say about the H9. I love mine, and I use it for crazy harmodulated patterns, straight-ahead spring-reverb, pitch effects, and as a wah. It?s great.
Incredible product
Using it in the studio and for my live and I'm amazed by how good this product is. It's also very flexible and easy to use with any iOS devices.
